If I were NASCAR, I'd be mad, too. Stereotyping it as a racist sport...

In all honesty...it used to be a very racist sport.

I think that NASCAR should be happy they passed the test instead of pissed they were put through it in the first place.

It used to be but if they had been following NASCAR's progress lately, it's not anymore. Heck, the whole diversity program NASCAR has up now should have given them a hint.

True, but it's already done. Now they're just bitching because that was done. It was a shitty practice and unethical as hell, but now that it's done they should be cashing in on it, not whining.

NBC is already saying they're going to do more "plants" like that at other locations. They are not going to back down from this it seems until they finally get a negative reaction. Too bad this is getting such high publicity thanks to NASCAR calling them out that people aren't even going to take the story seriously if someone does end up acting negatively to the "plants."

Now that NASCAR has "outed" Dateline NBC, I pity the real Muslims who attend any sporting event in the future.  NASCAR is not a racist sport.  Even here in Atlanta, when we go to the races, we don't hear any racists slants - except one when the black guy (can't remember his name) qualifed.  There were no boos or sneers or anything when he DID qualify.  Just one comment that we heard in the stands.  Nothing else.

To me, Dateline NBC just went way down in integrity.

And one comment from one person does not reflect the thoughts of all Americans. If Dateline does get someone making a comment to the Arab people, then that's just one single person. It does not reflect this society as a whole. So this "story" they're trying to come up with is stupid.

The driver's name was Bill Lester, BTW
