In news nobody cares about except Drew Lachey and maybe his parents, Drew and his wife gave birth to their first daughter yesterday. A rep for the couple says, "Mom, Dad and baby are all happy and healthy."

It's great news and all, but somebody like Drew really doesn't need a rep to make statements like this for him. It'd be like Gary Coleman sending out a press release that he finally saved up enough for that Honda Civic. Probably very exciting times, but the only people that care are either related by blood or depressed.

Nick Lachey's brother. Jessica Simpson's ex brother in law.

Told you nobody would care. LOL

it'd be like a press release along the lines of "John Hamilton finally got a new car.  It was a Pontiac Grand Prix with blah-ty-blah miles and a blah-ty-blah color scheme.  Hehe.

I sent that press release to a lot of people that I know. Since so many people made fun of my old car, I figured it was time to turn the tables a little bit Tongue

Why wouldn't it be, though? If I'm going to spend that much money, I'm going to do it right.

Yes, but you're practical. Elmono is not.

Not that it's a bad thing. It's just one thing that you two do NOT have in common. Smiley

Chris would probably just buy a car with no research, but would look into everything under the sun before buying a DVD.

and THATS the way it should be.  It's one thing to look for a car and do all the research, it's another thing to go out and conduct field research, gathering test subjects, and writing a thesis like John...

I was going to say something like that but I thought I'd be nice. But then Rolando had to go say it Smiley

I don't need a reason. I call everyone kid. Or boys and girls. Or something.

Just getting caught up with this forum.  The title is a bit misleading.  That would be a medical miracle if a guy actually gave birth.  It's like rooting on your football team and using the "we" term.  As soon as you are on the field, you can say "we".  Drew Lachey is the father.  His wife had the baby.  Sorry - pet peeve of mine.

I think there are certain instances where saying "we" is okay. For example, I have no problem with people saying "we" when the person is a student or alumni of a university.

Not really sure how to apply that logic to professional teams, though. Maybe if someone's been a fan of a team for so long and they're obviously not on the bandwagon. Dunno.

Actually, grammatically speaking, Drew Lachey 'had' a baby. Drew Lachey gave birth to a baby or Drew Lachey delivered a baby would be misleading because it's not grammatically correct. Just as if Drew had caught the baby his wife pushed out then it should be Drew Lachey assisted in the delivery of a baby.
