24: The Good, the Bad, and the Oh SOOOOO Ugly....

The Good:

 - I liked the guard, Henry, who was stuck with Lynn. Obviously in the face of danger, authority goes out the window. Case in point: "So we're all gonna die because you were embarrassed...."

Good job of putting him in his place.

 - "My name is Tony Almeida. You killed my wife, Michelle Dessler, this morning...." ....Prepare to die...

Oh come on! You were thinking it, too. Long live Inigo Montoya. It must be a Hispanic thing.

 - "I know you, Tony." Okay, this was so sappy and so nice. It was a good way of showing the deep friendship between Jack and Tony.

 - "Just let us finish our interrogation..." ...and then you can kill him. You just knew that's what Jack meant. I loved that he wanted to let Tony have his revenge once they were done with that idiot Henderson guy.

 - Yay! Jack tried to strangle the berry boy! I love how he was all yelling, "How dare you!" at Jack and telling him that he's tried to help her. Jack needs to put in a call to the ethical board on that asshole.

First of all there can be NO personal relationship of any kind with a client unless at least two years has passed and it's only been a year and a half since the last season so you know damn well that this guy can easily lose his license if Jack makes one phone call.

 - Who was the hot thong chick and how great was it to see her put the terrorist in his place? She's not scared of shit and then she's supposed to be rushing to get this stuff for this guy, but she figures why not have a little sex first? Awesome! I love her already, even though she's apparently the bad guy...er...girl.

UPDATE: I think that was Mandy after seeing it again, but Chris swears it isn't. I'm going to have to defer to him because he knows more about it than I do, but something about her eyes makes me think it's her. Maybe the actress had some work done or something. Who knows...

 - Kim apologizing to Chloe was good. She was really pissing me off. Their bonding was perfectly written. Awkward, but heartfelt.

 - Leave it to Audrey to be totally clueless and leave it to Jack to just keep things simple.

"Are you alright?"

"No."? His answer sounded so final. I loved it. It said so many things all at once like, 'that was a stupid ass question' and 'I'm not discussing it at the moment so back off.' I love Jack.

 - The tears....oh wow...the tears. Jack has cried for his wife's death. He was so upset when he thought Kim was dead in the first season. He cried at the end of the third season. But NONE of those moments were nearly as emotional as the one at the end of this episode. Jack basically lost the one constant in his life. Maybe...I'm still holding onto some hope.

The Bad!:

 - Berry boy really saved the day this time. "I can help her. I'm a clinical psychologist."

I lost it. How could this guy deliver that line and not crack up? It's like declaring you're Superman. I seriously thought the guy was going to rip open his shirt and reveal a cape! Jack should have just said. "I can kill you. I'm a badass."

 - Mrs. Logan sounded pretty dumb when talking about the VP and her hubby. "He's letting him write his statement?!"

Yeah, lady...kind of what you keep trying to do. *rolls eyes* I'm beginning to wonder if the President even CAN write. Sad character for someone who was on Firefly. I thought he'd be cooler. Wink

 - Chloe already pointed it out, but just a note to Berry boy. STOP with the breathing, already! Please please please...you're making all the psychologists out there look like glorified Lamaze coaches!

 - Kim needs to get over herself. I'm a bit sick of her attitude with her father. Thank goodness Jack told Berry boy to get Kim out of the city. Yeah, she's nice to look at, but good riddance.

 - Okay, what was Tony thinking? He can't believe that RoboCop was really in a coma, could he? Hello! He's not all that human....of COURSE he can survive all of that crap in his system. It's motor oil for blood, silly!

 - What is the deal with Mike in crisis situations? Um...is it just me or does he always seem to be trying not to smile?

 - Here's something horrible. Why wasn't Aaron in this ep? We're all getting really excited for him and the First Lady and then he goes and disappears. Pay attention, folks. I think we've just had our first bathroom/eating break! Woo hoo!

The OH SOOOOOOO Ugly!:

 - We know Edgar died. Do we HAVE to see him with the pink goo coming out of his mouth, too?

 - The President knows nothing! All he does is listen to everyone tell him what to do and then asks everyone under the sun what's going to make things better? And he wants THEM to do all the work. Idiot...

 - "Don't talk down to me, Chloe." Kim's a moron. I'm thinking Chloe can kick her ass and how much fun would it have been to see a cat fight going on when Chloe should have been filling that room with clean air? Audrey would have been freaking and crying and Chloe could have just hit Berry boy with a chair and then decked Kim and gotten to the computer just in time to save Jack.

I mean it's pretty easy to talk down to a bleached blonde vegetable....

God...how could the writers have missed a great opportunity like that?

 - Why wasn't Henry, the red shirt guard, just left alone? No...we had to sit and listen to him say goodbye to his daughter AND hear her voice. I just didnt' need my heartstrings ripped out like that.

 - Henry and Lynn's deaths. How sad to see the guard so happy that he was alive only to watch him die. And Lynn going through the pain of watching him and knowing there was no hope....People don't deserve to suffer like that. He took that breath knowing he was going to die and he just waited for it. Then his strangled 'Oh God' as he realized he wasn't prepared for the agony....Not even a hobbit should have to go through that....

 - The President. I can only say one thing. "There's no crying in baseball!!!!!!!!!!!"

 - Oh boy....another episode of people taking over CTU who know nothing. Ick....I'm kind of sick of that story...

 - Last, but not least by any means.....Tony can NOT be dead! Tony can NOT go out like a bitch! And if he's dead then where the hell was his silent countdown?Huh?

I mean Edgar was nice and all, but how does he get one and Tony doesn't?Huh? If Tony is dead I'm done with this show? because the writers really fucked this up. Like a very smart man pointed out..."Are they trying to alienate their viewers?" Maybe. Or hopefully they're just really damn good at getting us worked up just to say, "Fooled you!"

I don't have time to read all of that right now, but the part about Firefly caught my eye and he was a douchebag on Firefly, too.

In my experience, that tends to turn people off from the show. At least, the one person I showed it to. I showed it to a coworker and after 10 minutes, she wasn't too impressed and ended up not watching the rest of the first disc. Her husband did and then wanted to see the other episodes. She watched starting with episode 4 and liked it and now wants to watch the previous ones, hehe.

They can't kill Tony! They've tried that twice already!!! He's as immortal as Jack!

And seeing Jack cry over Tony was nice.

Usually being a red shirt means you feel no remorse for when they die... then they had to go and give this red shirt a little daughter. Damn you!!! And where's Frodo when Sam needed him?
