Yep, the Oracle of Omaha is getting his own cartoon show.  It's going to be called "The Secret's Millionaire's Club" and he will provide his voice and teach a group of characters lessons on money and financing.  All will be geared to children.

The company producing the show, DIC Entertainment, is based in Omaha and provides lots of voice overs and other cartoon kind of concepts.  They do the spoofs that lead off the annual Berkshire-Hathaway shareholder's meetings.  I was able to attend one of those meetings and it's like nothing you've ever seen.

I just think it's kind of cool for the world's second richest person to do something like this for future generations.  I know Bill Gates does a ton for charitable organizations as well (The Bill and Melissa Charitable Trust is the largest charitable foundation in the world).  And Buffett is leaving most of his fortune to charities.

So the super-rich can be nice people too.

It is refreshing to see people with lots of money not let it totally go to their head.

I think this show would be a lot more interesting if it wasn't geared towards children. I'm always in the mood for getting tips about saving money and whatnot, but since this is geared towards children, odds are it's going to be about saving your allowance for 3 weeks to buy a big toy instead of buying 3 small toys or something. Not like, "here's some tips for buying a car or a house."

From what I read, it's going to be about the kids having some money to invest so Buffett will be giving advice.  And Buffett won't be giving advice about buying a house.  He's still living in the same one he bought about 50 years ago for $31,500.  Value when we lived in Omaha?  Around $100,000.  His thinking?  "Why should I move, I like this house".
