BF2

Talk about it in here, ya wankers.

Well. I guess I should say something about it.  We play it at LAN parties a lot.  It can be fun, but it's probably the most frustrating games I've ever played.  Not because of the gameplay, really, but because it's so slow, buggy, and bloated.  I mean, the thing actually has a loading screen for the freaking menu.  This menu has a bad habit of popping up at inopportune times.  I have a tendency to hit "ESC" to get out of the spawn/map screen.  It works, but then 20 seconds later when you're in the middle of a firefight, the stupid menu loads up and it takes you another 20 seconds to get out of it!

The other problem is that you need a huge mass of people to play this game, otherwise you're just wandering around for half an hour looking for somebody to shoot.  Problem is, you have to play the maps in "freaking massive" mode in order to get any jets and whatnot...

Anyway, enough ranting.  I generally play as spec ops, since C4 is about the only effective weapon against tanks.

I never hit escape in that game. I never know what it's going to do. Super and I play Special Forces most of the time on the Men of Honor server. We've never had any problems finding people to shoot at. You gotta make sure the server you join has enough people. Usually I'm the SpecOps guy sniping or the support guy blowing the enemy away with the awesome firepower of my SAW.

And grenades work against tanks as well, I've blown up a few that way. Usually I just wait until I get anti-tank, armor, or chopper support... or run my ass off and hope I don't get blasted.

From what I've read, Battlefield 1942 also had its share of bugs but those were ironed out. Hopefully the same will happen with BF2

Yeah, I try to avoid Escape if at all possible. I do tend to hit it at inopportune times sometimes, though.

If you're on a good server, like Men of Honor, there's never a shortage of kids to shoot at. As for class, I'm almost always SpecOps. I like the speed it allows, the gun is good, and the C4 can be useful if you can get close enough to a vehicle to take it out.

The next patch might make support my most played kit. I'm starting to play it as often as SpecOp now since I love the ammo capacity. Plus I like the warm fuzzy feeling I get when I resupply soldiers

1942 had its bugs, yes, but I don't know that they were ever ironed out...

Oh, the other thing I hate is randomly exploding vehicles.  I mean, you're running along and some abandoned jeep is just sitting there, then BOOM.  I mean, it's fine that they get rid of them and respawn them, but they shouldn't actually hurt the players nearby.

Oh, yeah, I really don't understand that. Take a vehicle from its spawn point and the time limit on it expires after being abandoned and it just blows up. Of course, I usually get harmed by it by not realizing I'm running next to a heavily damaged vehicle...

I'm very careful around vehicles that are just chillin' for that very reason. I guess it's to prevent people from hiding all the vehicles or something.

Sometimes, however, vehicles make good cover against regular guns...
