Annoying trend in movies

I wonder how in the world directors don't hear about the complaints with this... what's with all the quick edit fight scenes in movies lately? These directors and editors cut them to be so quick and jerky nowadays, I have no clue as to what is going on. I know they're trying to convey a hectic fight but they're very hard to follow

i totally agree with you. biggest major casualty for me at the moment? THE BOURNE SUPREMACY. this and the first one IDENTITY, both excel because the stunts and action were for the most part believable. Nothing too over the top while still retaining excitement. Not to mention, Matt Damon actually took acting into an action movie. THATS CRAZY! I found these two movies to be some of the best ive seen in the past few years, though the second had issues due to the herky jerky director fidgeting with the damn camera! the car chases would have kicked so much more ass if i hadnt felt motion sickness after those scenes. Yeesh already.
Another movie that had big issues with this was SPY GAME with redford and pitt. Not a great movie at all, but the editing didnt help it at all. What could have been a slightly good to mediocre movie fell into the blah category as a result of stupid quick cutshots.

One scene from Bourne Supremacy that was horrible was the fight in that guy's house (I don't know who he was, I was watching it during work). Man, that was all over the place.
