The 37 year old wife posted the $10,000 bond and "left town".  Her lawyer just says she's getting settled in a new place.  I highly doubt she can leave town while on bond.  The 15 year old husband is still in juvenile detention.  It was published why he's in detention.  He violated his parole (he had burglarized a home) by not being where he told his grandmother (his guardian) where he was.  When did that happen?  The day he got married.  His grandmother thought he was home sick when he was out saying his vows.

I'm not going to get into the whole morality issue here but what's going to be extremely interesting in the next couple of weeks is how the Georgia courts rule on many, many issues.  The marriage is legal, as far as Georgia law is read.  There is now spousal priviledge attached to any testimony of the husband.  He doesn't have to testify against his wife.  Even if the alleged acts happened before their marriage.  The courts are being petitioned to force him to testify because of his age.

Second thing and this was going on yesterday.  The press and media have petitioned the courts to open all the hearings in the case.  Since the alleged victim is a minor, the court is usually closed.  Except when the case is of "public importance".  If it is opened, more than likely the husband's name will be revealed (like anyone in Cumming can't figure it out).  I think this case is of public importance because Georgia law will be changed one way or another before this whole thing is over.  I'm sure that loophole of the bride being underage but pregnant so the couple doesn't need parental permission to marry is going to get tossed into the history books.

The husband was interviewed and he claims his wife never seduced him.  The grandmother willingly let the boy spend every weekend with the woman and her son.  Elmono had friends when he was growing up and I knew most of the parents.  And I'd ask him how things went with sleepovers and things like that.  The grandmother (who is still milking her fifteen minutes of "fame") really wasn't doing that good of a job of staying involved in her ward's life.

The wife's court date is November 30th.  Wonder what that family's Thanksgiving dinner conversation is going to be like?

Too may politics involved and too many people with their hands in the pot.

The politics are involved because it does pertain to the law.  Which one is the one to follow?  Child molestation or the marriage being legal or probation violation to marry legally or the grandmother just not paying attention to what her ward was doing?  All this will be brought up.  It's going to be interesting following the case.  Fortunately, it's in Hall County and while we can spit and hit the county line, we're not in the jury pool since we legally reside in Gwinnett County.

As for people having the hands in the pot, the only one so far is the grandmother who should just STFU.  Wife and husband are keeping relatively quiet.  So is the wife's son.  The only people here making any kind of wave are the media.  And that grandmother.
