Ah, just when I was starting to like Gov. Sonny Perdue for his quick resolution of the gas situation during Hurricane Katrina, he blows it.

All Georgia schools are closed Monday and Tuesday to "help out with the gas shortage".  What gas shortage?  This was announced yesterday.  During the day.  And what do you think happened?  Gas lines and higher prices.  Plus, parents are scrambling around trying to find child care coverage.

Personally, I think it's great.  My commute just went from an hour to 45 minutes since Soccer Mom and Football Dad will already be at work instead of sitting at the bus stops in their SUVs with the air conditioning on waiting for Susie and Billy to board.

And that's another thing - it's been in the mid 90s here and the air conditioning in my 33 MPG Camry has been turned off all week.  My tank of gas lasted a full week even with my commute.  People are stupid.

I heard about this on the radio on my way home last night. I was surprised that they would do that, even without the thought occurring to me that it would do nothing but cause a panic and cause prices to rise.

The fact that the AC in my car is shot has kind of been a blessing in disguise. My commute is only a little over 11 miles each way, but I only have to get gas every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. It's nice, and worth a little sweat. While it may be worth it, I don't know if I'll do it again next year when I intend to have a newer car with a working AC.

I'm really bad with the A/C. I have it on a lot.

My car sucks so little gas, I can have the A/C on low all the time and still get almost 300 miles on a tank out of it
