Haha, there was a woot podcast along these lines.  I wish they had some way to search the archives so I could dig it up and share.  I think it was a watch that was also a TV, though.

That one made me laugh.

Man, I reread this entire thread and we were incredibly harsh on this movie... including my parents.

Anything concerning Dick Cheney shooting someone in the face is funny. Actually, for some reason, I find the term "shoot in the face" (with a gun, perverts) funny all the time. I have no idea why.

I was prepared to hate it, but WOW it was just so awesome. I mean really awesome. I can't wait to get it on DVD.

And Bond was so sensual and more human I think. The fact he wasn't invincible at all was really nice.

SPOILERS (maybe):

Quote
Vesper Lynd: "I'm the money."
Bond: "Every penny of it."
Nice little nod to Moneypenny

For half the movie, I thought she was Moneypenny.

Daniel Craig played the part well, but didn't really look the part.  Wasn't Bond supposed to be like 25?  He looked more like 40.  Eva Green looked quite attractive (before she loaded up on eye shadow).

If you think about it, I doubt they'd let a 00 Agent be that young. 00 Agents are the best of the best so you'd have to get a ton of seasoning in before becoming one. I'm sure there's more to becoming a 00 Agent than just the two kills thing

Apparently Sony has the rights for SPECTRE. Because Sony associated with Kevin McClory, the idiot who owns the rights to SPECTRE, Blofeld, and Thunderball, to make the movie Warlord 2000 - which never got made (a remake of Thunderball, which is what Never Say Never Again was), Sony in turn has the film rights for SPECTRE and Blofeld. And since Sony now also owns MGM, SPECTRE can return to the Bond series and maybe be the organization behind Le Chiffre.

Man, for the third week in a row, Casino Royale just cannot beat those stupid penguins. For the third week in a row, Casino Royale is #2 to Happy Feet's #1 (HA HA Nativity Story, you sucked!)

Chris is going to have a panic attack if I don't reply to this thread, so here I go.

I saw Casino Royale last weekend when Nathan was here. Good flick and I probably put it high on the list but it's been ages since I've seen all the old movies. Watching them again now, actually.

Casino Royale for me basically did the same thing that Episode III did for the Star Wars prequels. I didn't much care for the last couple of Bond movies and we all know that Episode I and II were pretty crappy. After seeing III, though, I wanted to watch more Star Wars. After watching Casino Royale, I wanted to watch more Bond movies.

I took care of my need to see the Bond movies by watching them before Casino Royale.

And the next Bond movie just may be titled Risico, after one of the Bond short stories. Unfortunately, most of the plot of Risico was used for For Your Eyes Only so probably only the basic idea of the plot, a crime ring, will be used.
