That's funny you still don't have Octopussy. My collection is a mixture of VHS and DVD since MGM, for some reason, releases the DVDs for a few months and then pulls them. Makes me angry... especially since this last time they did it, they released the first wave both in a box set and as separate DVDs (I managed to get most of those) but the second and third waves were available only in the box sets. Grrrrr...

Will I be able to buy all the movies on DVD at some point? Whether it's a box set or not will be irrelevant once I get a job and have expendable income.

Eventually you will, but I bet it won't happen until 2006 when Bond 21 comes out. I also heard they're working on new special editions of the movies, but I bet those will wait until Blu-Ray or HD-DVD comes out

Fair enough. I just want to get them all on DVD or Blu-Ray or something. I don't even have a VCR in my room anymore. It wasn't hooked up at all and then I put it in the attic when I got my Xbox.

When will this ever stop? Now the top choice seems to be Hugh Jackman...

Oy, now another apparent frontrunner for Bond: Rory McCann. He was in Alexander and he looks almost like Sean Connery. There's a comparison picture at the link

McCann could do nicely, I think. He certainly looks the part.

Then why are Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor, and Jude Law even in the mix at all? *boggle*

Probably because they want to keep the public's attention by throwing out big names for the part.

Oh, good point. Although the movie should have plenty of attention when it comes out. James Bond is still a franchise name.

Pierce Brosnan has officially hung up his P99. He stated that he is not going to play Bond anymore so his rumored return will not happen.

I just wish they'd make a decision already.

Some news

Casino Royale is going to be the next Bond movie, directed by Martin Campbell, the guy who directed GoldenEye. I believe Casino Royale is the first Bond novel so it will definately be a character driven story. Originally, Casino Royale was a spoof with Peter Sellers and Woody Allen. They are now beginning an official James Bond search.

More news: Apparently Brosnan asked for $42 million to play Bond again. Obviously, Eon and MGM did not want to pay that much and dropped Brosnan as Bond.

When will the madness stop?! Now they're saying Brosnan will be back as Bond saying Sony doesn't want to take a chance with an unknown actor right after their acquisition of MGM
