It's Anne Rice. I've never read Anne Rice. I started Interview with a Vampire, but I can't find it. Hollie gave me 'The Witching Hour' and said I'd like it. I didn't think I would, but I finally started it and I'm captivated.

Anyone else have a book that sat around forever and then when you finally did try and force yourself to read it you couldn't put it down? I even started the book a few times and just couldn't handle it at all. I was so bored.

Then one day, bam. It caught me and I can't wait to read more.

I don't know that I've really ever had that happen to me. When I buy a book, I usually buy it with the intent to read it right away.

Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me.

I had that happen with a whole series haha.  I got the first book in a series (as a gift) by Bernard Cornwell about a British soldier in the Napoleonic Wars named Sharpe.  I couldnt stand it the first few times i started it, but eventually got so bored that i read past the first chapter or two, and then BAM!  I read every book in the series in the span of about 8 months... might be about 15-20 books in the series?  You never know how good it is til you really get into something sometimes, and the payoffs are amazing.

I did that with a Nora Roberts series. I wasn't interested and then I was and the third book wasn't out yet. It was torture and then it came out and I was upset. I wanted more! hehehe
