Ok, so I've been working on upgrading the network here at the house for a while now... Been busy with work (I work for Best Buy now, yay for the Geek Squad), getting ready to go back to school at Auburn, and getting my apartment in one piece (I'll post pictures when it's decent)... and I'd upgraded to WPA-PSK from WEP (since WEP has been cracked and is no longer considered secure). Well, apparently Microsoft is marvelous and has b0rked up WPA handling in the Wireless Zero Configuration service (the default Windows service for managing wireless cards) and it won't connect (gg, Billy) so I've been trying for a month or two now to get it to work... Needless to say, it's been a headache.
Turns out, it can be solved by installing the newest drivers for my wireless card along with the management utility for the card, but that's not so easy. Dell (asshats) has decided that the card is not supported on my system, thus that means I can't install the software cuz their setup says I don't have supported hardware. Well, sorry wankers, I'm better than you and I know it. Setup.ini is NOT a secure place to tie in platform analysis, so with a little searching and playing, I ripped out their platform utility and voila!, I can install the drivers.
Now, I'm enjoying Type 1 encryption (classified as good for Top Secret data) and having a ball

I guess this is how I say I'm back, rofl
