Has anyone ever done anything that was really wild and crazy and at the time you are thinking "am I really doing this?"
RichN and I just got back from an insane couple of days. He got the call Tuesday morning while he was in upstate New York that he was needed in Holly Hill, Florida on Thursday and Friday. He'd fly back to Atlanta on Wednesday and then fly down to Florida on Thursday then back to Atlanta on Friday.
I knew Holly Hill is just across the inlet from Daytona Beach. Free room on the company, a seven hour drive for me and I'm there. That was the plan. Insane but then again, I've been called worse. Then RichN gets the idea of staying another day and both of us driving back together on Saturday. Great idea except the hotel (a very nice Hilton, BTW) was going to charge us almost double for that Friday night. Thanks but no thanks.
And then I moved my thoughts a little bit to the west. Disney World! I hotwired a hotel room over there for $46 for Friday night (actually, they gave it to us for $35 which I didn't argue about at all). So in less than 48 hours from the first phone call about RichN going to Holly Hill, we were on our way to Daytona Beach and Disney World.
Anyone else done anything wild and crazy like this? Understand that we are in our early 40s so it's not like we live on the edge or anything.

I really don't think you want to know some of the things that I've done like that.
Okay, here's one of the milder ones. I was on the train to NE and I thought, "WTF?"

Yeah, I've never done anything like that before.
I guess the most spontaneous thing that comes to mind is a few years ago when Chris said that you and RichN were driving up to Ohio the same week that I was on spring break and we hatched the plan for me to tag along.

I bought my car spontaneously. I was still looking around because i didn't really have any money saved up at the time (i was planning to make a downpayment), but when visiting the Omaha Pontiac dealership with my best friend Billy (he was getting his oil changed), the guy who had just recently sold him the car we had brought in made me a good offer. $242 a month with no down payment! I was shocked, and pretty much took it on the spot, and used the money i was saving for a down payment to pay the taxes on the new 2003 Grand Am I got back in July 2003. It's hard to believe I've had it a little over 2 years now. It still looks pretty brandspankin new. Other than that the most spontaneous things i've done are dye my hair funky colors right before big events (Super, right before we went to Disneyworld for Band) (and also right before a gig I had during my Junior year of college). I also tend to get haircuts spontaneously too. I just wake up one morning and shave it off after say a year of growing it long or something. I'm random.

The most spontaneous thing I did was come out to Ohio from Nebraska, 12 hours straight, for my future wife

mkay, i think thats got us all beat. I DO remember Super tellin' me about that when it happened, and i was like DAMN! now thats love. I think me and my ex of like 5 years had just broken up and i was in that whole "BAH to love" phase, and when i saw you do that, i was just like "wow, its good to see things still work for the rest of the world." It basically smacked me out of my slump somewhat.

That's so sweet. I remember when I found out about him coming out here. My friends were trying to hide it from me because I had enough on my mind and then I had to deal with him seeing me not looking fabulous or anything. And he still married me. hehehehe

Plus add to the whole equation that RichN drove himself from Georgia to Ohio to help out as well. First meeting with the future daughter-in-law although we didn't know that at the time.

Talk about misleading. I think that's the only time ever that my FIL considered me 'fragile'. Now I'm the ball bustin' bitch of the family.

It's due to the Latina attitude you may possess haha. Mexican women are quite known for their feistiness, which is one reason i've never dated a full Mexican girl, i'm not sure if my ego could take the bruising being only a half-breed and unused to that stuff. Nothing against the latin women of course; my girlfriends a halfbreed too, though shes a farm girl and really has no attitude whatsoever (she can barely order a meal in a fastfood restaurant because she thinks theres too much pressure haha).

I think I could just about count the number of countries outside the US that I'd want to visit on two hands. That leaves what, like 200 more countries that I'd just as soon never step foot in?

I convinced my husband to think about it and he's leaning toward a yes answer. My mom is thinking about it because I'd really like her support. Marlie is totally against it.
So we'll see what happens I guess, but it would be a great great experience.

I'm logging in with a "I don't really want you to go but I'll support you in whatever you do". Really think about it. Email elmono's cousin in Guyana and talk to her about living in a totally different culture.

Yeah, this is true. Plus, I also found out you were a Pepsi drinker. Good thing you have since seen the light......

LOL. Isn't it bad that I can't handle Pepsi anymore. I'll drink it if I have to, but it's Coke all the way for me.

Ahhhhh, you guys living down in GA, the land of Coke. I like Coke products but hate the basic Coca-Cola. Course, I cant really stand Pepsi Cola either, but the other Pepsi products are where it's at for me. They just seem more carbonated or something. They burn my throat on the way down more, and that's what i drink soda for, haha. Yeah, I know I'm a weirdo, but soda in many ways is my hard liquor. Just give me a shot or two at a time to clear me up. Best soda ever though, in my opinion, is Dr. Pepper. But then again, that's a Texas product haha. Course, I lived for years in Nebraska and never learned to like Kool-Aid (Im still a Hi-C man if forced to drink a juice box).
Gots to be careful on the soda though folks. Dunno if i already gave this warning or not, but that stuff is mucho bad for you. I got kidney stones a few years back from drinking waaaaay too much pop (12 pack a day), so make sure to keep it in moderation (passing them is a chore i dont recommend). Kidney stones are not a fun experience for you guys out there, i'm told they're the closest we can get to child birth.

Dr. Pepper, hell yeah. Nothing beats the good doctor.
Holy crap, a 12 pack a day? That's insane. And when was this? I don't remember you ever telling me about passing a kidney stone.

Dang, even I don't drink a 12 pack a day. Depending on the weather, I probably drink between 2 to 6 Cokes a day.

im down to no more than one a day. i don't want to tempt fate again. that 12 pack a day was when i lived in the dorms and the soda was part of my meal ticket, so technically i didn't pay for it; i was on scholarship. 12 sodas a day would have made me very broke.
