Okay, trivia time. Here's how it works. I'll start it off by asking the first question. Then whoever answers it asks a new question. Whoever answers that one asks the next question and so forth. Try not to make the question so obscure no one but yourself knows it. Only book trivia here. I'll start it off with an easy one.

Leo Tolstoy wrote Anna Karenina

I'm guessing that's the one you meant. I haven't read it, but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

Who wrote the very first Nancy Drew novel?

Carolyn Keene is not an acceptable answer.

Mildred Benson. There's a plaque at the theater I work at for some reason honoring her.

What was the first Jack Ryan novel?

I do believe it was "The Hunt for Red October" but someone verify that for me.  Publishing wise, not time wise.

Pretty sure you're right. Red October was written in the very early 80s, like '81 or something, I think.

In the book "Gone With the Wind" - how many offspring did Scarlett have?  Extra if you know the name(s).

It's Mildred Wirt Benson, but I won't hold that against you. Smiley

That's because she was a local. She retired from the Toledo Blade at 95 or 96 or something crazy like that and passed away shortly after.

Mark Martin

In honor of the Fourth of July....

"Within him, as he hurled himself forward, was born a love, a despairing fondness for this flag which was near him. It was a creation of beauty and invulnerability. It was a goddess, radiant, that bended its form with an imperious gesture to him. It was a woman, red and white, hating and loving, that called him with the voice of his hopes. Because no harm could come to it he endowed it with power. He kept near, as if it could be a saver of lives, and an imploring cry went from his mind."

What book is this quote from? It's one of my faves.

Well...I think most English teachers forced this book on a lot of kids. Does that help? And it's about wartime.

This is probably easy but what the hay.

What Stephen King book was first published in 1989, was 55 pages long, and a first edition signed copy now is worth $600?

I know this one, but disnut won't let me answer it.  You would think elmono would have a guess.

It's Dolan's Cadillac.  I figured Elmono would realize that.  Very rare book indeed.  You're up Elmono.

OK, I'll take it back.  And stick to Stephen King.  In what Stephen King novel was there a dog named Willie?  This one is easy.
