AL East

What in the world is going on with the AL East? How long has it been since that division has been this competitive? Who's in first? New York? No. Boston? No. Baltimore? Yes, and by 4 games over second place Boston. Now you would think the Yankees would be close behind in third... no, that honor goes to Toronto (4.5 games back) who seems to have found their ability to compete in the division and, along with Baltimore, make it hard for Boston and New York to dominate. This leaves the Skankees in fourth place (5 games back)... but they can go no further down because the Devil Rays still suck and are 14 games behind first.
It helps that the Yankees have been beaten twice in a row by the worst team in baseball: The Royals. Looks like their new manager is there to stay since his record with KC is 2-0 now... against the Yankees. Yeah, I still have a little soft spot for KC since they were the closest MLB team to me when I lived in Nebraska. Plus they have an awesome stadium despite being built in the 70s.

haha, true that. The Royals have never done much of anything, but by golly, their farm teams in Omaha, how can i not at least follow them? Well, except for that small stretch when they decided to call them the Golden Spikes... I swore off all of the Royals organization at that point. Now that they decided to switch the moniker back, i pay a little more attention to whats happening with KC and Omaha.

Oh, man, I hated when they changed the name. That lasted something like two years. The KC Royals used to be good when they had players like George Brett. It won't be long until Mike Sweeney, their star player, looks for greener pastures.

Don't look now, but the O's could only manage a split with Boston. 4-3 9th inning lead blown! Agghh!!!

Yeah, they lost. They play Detroit next. They better not be swept this time by a bad team
