Repeated head trauma can cause brain damage

« on: May 18, 2005, 06:38 PM »

I just read over some briefs regarding ABC's fall schedule and it turns out Jake in Progress was, in fact, not canceled and will be returning next year.

Lost and Desperate Housewives are also returning, of course. So is Grey's Anatomy and Boston Legal is supposed to have a 27-episode season (with I assume the first 5 episodes being the 5 eps that didn't air this season when Grey's Anatomy took over the timeslot). Blind Justice got the axe, though, and probably rightly so. It was mediocre at best. There's also a new show called Invasion, about an alien invasion, that they say will appeal to fans of Lost. Definitely going to be looking out for that. If it's half as good as Lost, it will be amazing.

Two new shows centering around Washington, DC look like they might be worth checking out. Commander-in-Chief starring Geena Davis and Donald Sutherland on ABC and E-Ring on NBC starring Benjamin Bratt and Dennis Hopper. Both oughta be worth at least a watch or two, but I'm betting that E-Ring will be the better show.

But the best news (outside of the obvious ones, like Lost returning) is that Veronica Mars was picked up for a second season. I'm seriously convinced that this is the best show that no one knows about.

Edit: BASTARDS! I just saw on tvtome that Jack & Bobby wasn't picked up for next year. I just watched the finale and they at least made the season finale a good series finale, tying up all the loose ends and saying how Bobby became President. It's a shame the show was on the WB; I bet it would have done better on a different network. It's a teen drama-type show but I think it's more mature than most of the other stuff on the WB so the normal Dawson's Creek, that type of show, crowd didn't like it. It was probably over their head. Bastards.

I'm pissed they cancelled the fourth Law & Order show.  Trial by Jury.  Far, far better than Criminal Intent but stuck in a horrible 10:00 PM Friday time slot.  Bebe Newirth and Amy Carlson were very good on that show.  NBC, who needs good shows, claims it'll be back at some point.  Yeah, when whatever they are trotting out new in the fall fails to catch on.  Other than Law & Order (which is fading until Jesse L. Martin gets back) and SVU, we don't really watch anything else on NBC.

Thank goodness ABC is coming up with some good things.  As a Disney stockholder, I'm happy.   Grin

Yeah, I was surprised that NBC gave TBJ the boot. I thought Law & Order was basically the competition for CSI. Not directly (unless some of the timeslots match up, but I don't know about that stuff), but it always seemed that way, even though L&O is a much older show.

ABC really does seem to be taking up the slack, though. They have some great shows returning from this year and a few of their new shows look to be pretty good as well.

Can't wait for the finale of Lost next week. Should be amazing.
