Haven't seen pics of this before today, so here's a link to IGN's page of Revolution pics. http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/615/615030/imgs_1.htmlThat little stand looks stupid, I think, but it looks like it can be stood up without the stand. I think it looks dumb because of how it slants down as you move towards the back of the console. Just doesn't sit quite right with me. The design itself is quite nice, though, and maybe the best of all three next gen systems. Hard to say, though; they're all very pretty and whoever designed each of them did a damn good job. I wonder if Revolution will be able to be set on its side so it's more horizontally oriented than vertically. I think that would help it fit into most gamers collections better. Although I think I've seen shots of both X360 and PS3 standing up vertically, so if all three can stand up that way, that would be a very impressive array of technology in someone's living room. Nintendo of course didn't design Revolution with that in mind, heh.

Yeah, I saw the pic in today's USA Today. I'm assuming the stand is optional since it can sit vertically or horizontally. But I love how tiny it is and it's all wireless... as well as the ability to play GameCube games, DVDs, and it has a modem... about time

is that another grabby drive? I cant tell. Impressive looking though. We'll see how quickly nintendo gets it out and if they rush it just to beat the PS3

Nintendo has pledged to beat the PS3 to market since they feel the PS2's early release thrashed Gamecube sales... Additionally, all past Nintendo titles will be available online... this could be quite nifty... Death of ROMs?

Yeah, it's a grabby drive. As for the Nintendo DS and PSP, they are two totally different systems so it's not exactly fair to compare the two

well then we cant compare the gamecube to the ps2 or the xbox either, haha. Either way theyre both handheld gaming systems and do compete for sales whether they are the same or not, unfortunately.

DS is meant for one thing while the PSP is meant for many different things. It's more of a multimedia system that happens to play games.
And if you're saying they should be compared because they're handhelds, then we have to include all those PDAs. They play games. They're handheld.

true. id agree with you. just like ngages and other phone things too, they all potentially share in the same market of gaming, despite their other functions as movie players, schedulers or phones. generally anything playstation or nintendo related tends to compete with each other on name brand alone, regardless of function sadly.

ooooowhee, compatible with the original cartridges and controllers and such? wow! that is quite neat, let me tell you, i think i might have to get me one of these. The Star Wars series of games (ANH, ESB, and ROTJ) for the Super Nintendo are my fave games ever... if a NEW gaming system will let me play those, then you damn well know i am IN. thats pretty neat.

I love the Super Star Wars games. I have them, but I think they're at home with the SNES.

Yeah, looks like every single NES, SNES, and N64 game will be available for download despite what that previous list I posted says.
