Alright, I've read quite a few of Stephen King's books, but none have quite captivated me as much as the Dark Tower series.  Since I graduated and moved, and dont really have a job right now, i hit up the local library by my dad in San Antonio.  I finally got to read the 6th book, and WHOAH, it was good.  It reminded me why i was so addicted to this series to start with.
I started the last book yesterday and am currently 100 pages into it.  Looks to be quite the read and i can barely put it down other than to play KOTOR 2.

The Gunslinger books are also my favorite.  Sorry to see it all end with the last book due out soon.  King is really the only author I read.  A little behind right now, though.  We have a collection of all his first editions.  A labor of love that we started back in the 80s.

I've read everything the man has published.  Most of them at least three or four times.  A lot of them even more than that.  My personal favorites are "The Stand" (uncut version) and "It".  "The Talisman" with Peter Straub is good too (Wolf!).

My favorite Stephen King memory?  When I was 18 and had to stay at home while my parents went to the Delaware shore.  I bought "Night Shift" and started reading it the night before I was going to join them for the weekend.  I ended up staying up all damn night.  Until 2:00 AM reading the freaking thing and then the rest of the night imagining all kinds of strange creatures were in the house.  Longest night of my life.  I was so glad to see sunrise.

Elmono, RichN and I saw King's house in Bangor, Maine.  That was the entire reason for a trip to New England.

And it IS a doozy!  I'm halfway through it and man, things are FALLING apart.  Ka-tet?  no more.  but i will keep mum about the rest until i finish it.  As much as i put into these characters and story, i hope it ends well-written.

OKAY!  I finished the series, it is done!  I shall not spoil the ending, but I will just say WOW.
I am sad and yet relieved in a way.  All the tension as to what the hell would end the story since i first started it ten years ago is gone.  Yet I am sad as i have to find something else to look forward to.  Damn good series, i might have to start over again and see if i can pick up some of the nuances i may have missed before.
