Rich and I will be down at Disney World (where else) for Memorial Day weekend which just happens to coincide with one of the Star Wars weekends.  Peter Mayhew will be there.  Hopefully, I can get close enough for a few pictures.  Not that dedicated to get there at the crack of dawn for a shot at an autograph FastPass.

Anyway, does anyone want any kind of souvenir from the weekend?  They have T-shirts and mugs and keychains and stuff like that.  Tatooine Traders is a nightmare but I'll attempt it if anyone is interested.

As much as I WOULD, I'm dead broke right now.  IF you take some pictures, post em up somewhere.  That'll be gift enough for me.  I'd like to see what kinda Star Wars crazies show up for the weekend. haha

I wouldn't say people were crazies but they are very much fanatics.  Not everyone but there are lots of "characters".  One year, a guy was kneeling in front of the Queen Amadala character and worshipping her.  Last year, I thought I spied two characters away from the normal activities.  Turns out it was two guests who were dressed in complete Star Wars costumes (Boba Fett and young Anakin).

I still remember one of the first years of the Weekends.  Carrie Fisher was there.  Talk about an autograph line!

I'll do my best to play Clark Kent and get some digital photos and post those as soon as I can.  I'll have to find my photo of Warrick Davis and scan that in.

Nothing can compare to Demon Child getting scared by the Stormtroopers when they were pretending to arrest someone. We were waiting in a small line to get her picture taken with them. Unfortunately, the guy in front of us wanted to be "arrested" by the Stormies. Off Demon Child goes, crying and not wanting to be around them.

She has a fear of cops, BTW...

A fear of cops and Stormtroopers.  That's a first in my books.  Kids are usually all "bang bang" around those kind of people.  THey think they're cool and act like they are them.  And odd that she'd be scared of the police, since she doesn't live in LA or anything... and she's white.  haha, i crossed the line. oops.

Here's an update from the first weekend that coincided with the opening of the film.

There was a four hour line just to get inside Tatooine Traders.  Sorry guys, but if that's what happens this weekend, I ain't waitin' in it.  Four hours to spend money?  The hottest item was the Darth Tater Mr. Potato Head figure.  All the special edition pins sold out.  Items should be restocked by this weekend.

Watch most of this stuff end up on ebay today.

Well, Episode III turned out to be a huge success, much more than Episodes I and II so it was to be expected. At least I was able to go to a Star Wars Weekend a year when there was no Star Wars movie out.

We were there last year when they had a viewing of the trailer for Ep III.  People clapped for a film!

I still haven't seen the movie. I'd stand in line four hours at that store just because it would mean that I was at WDW.

I swear I need to find a way to get down there...just for a day. Anything...
