Athletes these days are ridiculous. It's not enough that he's going to get $7 million. He wants more. Go to hell.

I wonder if any of these athletes remember how it was before they were rich and famous and realize how well off they are compared to normal people

The thing is, the Eagles aren't afraid to let good players go... Owens isn't used to dealing with a front office like that. I think they'll keep him and may pay him a bit more (since they have cap room left), and I think he may have earned a bit more, but I don't think now is the time for him to ask for it.

I agree. He did outperform his contract based on the rest of the league. According to some analyst on ESPN, anyway. I still think $7 million for 7 years plus whatever they gave him in his signing bonus oughta be more than enough.

Agreed. Do your part for another 3 years and then start negotiating. Your mouth is too big and you were out too much of the season to think you're holding all the cards. Yes, he played great in the SB, but I'd rather have him play every game and do so-so in the SB than trade the rest of them.

He's probably looking at Ron Mexico, err, Michael Vick's $10 million/year for 10 year contract and is thinking "damn! I could have gotten that!".

Lol, probably what he's thinking, and the only reason I even entertain him getting that money is Philly has cap room left

That's something Catfish said a long time ago. The Eagles don't back down. Very few Philly teams will. TO was forced to make that public apology and in the words of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. "that don't mean shit". Suspended indefinitely = he's off the team. He already has his house up for sale. The only problem is that he's expressed a big desire to play down here in Atlanta. The Falcons receivers suck so that's a possibility. TO will be one Falcon I will not cheer for.
