According to this article, Medical Investigation has been shown the door. I enjoyed it and like Neal McDonough so I'm sad to see it go. I've not seen all that many of either of them, but I'd like to see both JAG and Third Watch stay around. But JAG has on for 10 years so I guess now's as good a time as any. This is Third Watch's what, 6th year? I thought that did well in the ratings war every week. Anyone know what's up with that? It was kind of dumb but I still watched LAX and that's been canceled for several months now. One show that I'll be sad to see go is John Stamos' surprisingly good show, Jake In Progress. I was skeptical of that one at first but it's actually quite funny. On the good news front, though, the shows that I care about that have been renewed: 24, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, House, Lost, Malcolm in the Middle, Medium, Numb3rs, The OC, The Simpsons, Veronica Mars, The West Wing, all three CSIs and all four Law & Order (even though the only one I watch is the new one, Trial By Jury). Keeping my fingers crossed for Jack & Bobby, Kevin Hill, and The Office to get renewed for next year.

The only cancellation I'm pissed about is Third Watch. I love that show. But when it went to the dreaded Friday night time slot, I knew it would happen. The episodes of this show that revolved around 9/11/01 were incredible. I can't make it through the one titled "9/10/01" without losing it. The last scenes are of all the characters and where they were and what they were doing when the planes crashed.
The good news is that the very last episode will have everyone in it that has survived. Even Kim Raver who is now on 24 will show up.
I'm hoping for a classy finish to a classy show.

Even on Friday night, it still draws more than 10 million viewers and does well in its time slot. I think it wins it most times. If those things are true, cancelling it doesn't make much sense to me.
I think I may have seen "9/10/01" a couple years ago when I was watching all the reruns on A&E. I'd like to start from the beginning and watch the entire series, though. I've not seen enough episodes to piece together what's happened over the whole series, but what I've seen, I do enjoy.
That's pretty cool about all the old cast members returning, though. An interesting thing for a show to do and fans will love it, I bet.

Jake in Progress was cancelled? That show was so cool! I'm going to miss Tru Calling, but everyone knew that was cancelled long ago. The only decision to be made was whether to air the last six taped episodes. They're doing that, but it's opposite of CSI. FOX really knows how to kill a show.

Jake was apparently canceled, yes. The woman that plays Jake's boss has signed up for another show on a different network from what I hear. It's unfortunate. It was much better than I thought it would be and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The guy that played Patrick was hilarious. It does make me wonder why networks put out these series knowing they're going to cancel them after a few episodes. Like Fox with Life On A Stick and Stacked. There's no way that either of those is picked up next year.

What?!? Life on a Stick is cancelled? I like that dumb show. I'd live without it, though.

I don't know if it's canceled or not. I assume it won't be around long, though.

We kept saying that about her on Third Watch. Why the hell kill off Amy Carlson and leave bitchy, whiny Kim Raver on the damn thing? And then have her go off the show to happiness? Pissed me off. Kill the bitch, kill the bitch!

They KILLED Amy Carlson? The last ep I saw was the 9/11 one. I liked Amy Carlson, though.

Yeah, she got chopped in two while she was trying to save a guy trapped in a car. A guy speeding along the rescue scene hit her and literally ripped her legs off. She died while watching her boots along side her. Talk about grossness on TV.
Now, you do know Doc went nuts and shot people?

She's an assistant DA now, though. I'd say it's a step up from being a beat cop, hehe. This is on Law & Order, of course.

Kim Raver needs to die on 24 and Sarah Wynter needs to return as Jack's woman. She could handle seeing him torture people, especially her own sister

Actually, she was a paramedic AND a fire fighter on Third Watch. She didn't like doing the paramedic thing, thought the fire fighting was more important. Me, I'd rather have the knowledge that comes with being a paramedic.

Ah, that's right. Wasn't she the character whose father was the chief or something like that? It's been a while since I've watched Third Watch enough to know much of anything about the characters.
And I agree. If I was going to take a lifeskill away from being either a firefighter or a paramedic, I'd rather have the medical knowledge that comes with being a paramedic. Throughout the course of a lifetime, a person could probably do more good with that knowledge.

Her dad was a chief and he was lost in the World Trade Center. The episode when they found his body reunited Veronica Hamel (Taylor's mother), Bruce Weitz, and Ed Marinaro from Hill Street Blues.
