The Senate really doesn't have a say in all this. They want Sosa's, McGwire's, and Bonds' home run records taken out of the record books. First of all, no one has ever proven that Sosa and McGwire have even taken steroids. Sosa flat out denied it but McGwire does have some explaining to do... although, like it was said before, he did hit 49 home runs in his rookie year...

I think I lean towards believing his story since he's mostly a class act, but Sosa does have the corked bat thing hanging over his head. Even if he only used it that one time, it's the kind of thing that can still tarnish a legacy.

What's the big deal about people improving themselves in some way. I mean hell...we push plastic surgery on supermodels so why not push steroids on athletes?

I know it's 'different', but is it really?

There's been a ton of ballplayers who have had corked bats and never before have they had that hung over their heads like Sosa. He's broken many bats in his time and those never showed up corked so why did that one bat matter?

First of all, what the hell does Congress have to do with baseball?  It's stupid.

Second of all, why not throw out records of every single person who they disagree with?  It's like McCartheyism all over again.  Ty Cobb was a nasty, nasty man, let's toss his records.  Babe Ruth was probably drunk more on the field than not.  Denny McLain spent time in prison, let's take away his perfect game.

Congress should let baseball be governed by baseball.  They didn't get involved during the Black Sox Scandal, did they?  Bunch of self absorbed politicians.  Why aren't they out trying to settle the hockey strike?  Or, heaven forbid, trying to clear up our national debt, you know, something freaking important!

We know MLB can take care of their own problems. Look at Pete Rose...

WTF is congress doing messing with things they know nothing about?  Wait, guess that didn't come out right, as they always mess around with things they know nothing about.   I agree that Sosa broke many bats and they weren't corked.  You pretty much have to believe his story until a pattern can be established, which can't.  Anybody remember Steve Howe?  He was reinstated to baseball SEVEN times after being suspended for drugs.  So, why are steroids so terrible now, but you could be a coke head and be embraced by baseball as someone with a "problem"?

This is the same Congress that is meddling in the BCS which is the NCAA's problem, MLB and now NFL testing which are their problems, and can't even get Social Security fixed.  Go fix the country, then worry about what we do with our spare time you douches.

I read that NASCAR is going to take up a steroid testing policy. I don't know why. The only people who would really be affected by this would be pit crew members. They're the only ones I can see who would use steroids. Drivers have absolutely no need for that stuff

NCAA football needs a fix. Badly. The NCAA needs to step in and say "Okay, we're morons for never having given out a recognized national championship award. Here's our solution for the BCS fiasco."

I don't even see how steroids would help pit crew members in NASCAR. I guess if you weighed enough, you could jack the car up in one motion instead of two or lift a heavier gas can, but those are kind of negligible. Steroids might give the driver more stamina... maybe. But that'd be it. Steroids in NASCAR seem pretty damn pointless.

As far as I know, only one driver has ever been caught using any kind of drug and that was Shane Hmiel. He was suspended from any form of racing in NASCAR until he went through rehabilitation. He is now one of the drivers to look for in the future.

The NCAA does need to sanction a championship for football.  Now we just need to figure out how
