That was no F-4. That had to be an F-117. That would allow the pilot to get close to Air Force One if that's his intent.

It was an F-117A. Chandra confirmed my patheticness when I recognized it as such just from the cockpit closing. F-117As have that distinctive jagged edge on the cockpit canopies. I have no idea why they kept calling it the Phoenix however when the nickname for the F-117A is the Nighthawk

Maybe it's some sort of prototype or something. Some sort of special weapons payload, maybe. But yeah, the F-117A is certainly has nothing to do with Phoenix.

It's either the name of that specific plane (like Enola Gay) or they weren't allowed to use Nighthawk since it's being used by the terrorists.

That's possible. And it would give a little weight to the possibility that it's carrying some sort of prototype something or other. They tend to name those things, don't think?

Yeah, it could be an F-117 but modified in some special way. Or they just felt like using stock footage of the F-117A and saying it was a different type of plane. I've seen it done a lot in movies before. It annoys me to no end.

Yeah, that's true. Maybe we'll find out next week. Or maybe it will just be one of those things that they never explain. I hope not.

Either way, the fact is that it's an F-117A, giving credit to the theory that Air Force One is the target. It's an attack plane with stealth capability. What other aircraft could you use to get close enough to Air Force One to attack it and have the weapons to do so? The B2 could get close enough but it's a bomber and while I don't know that much about aircraft, I'm betting that its air-to-air weapons are nowhere near as good or plentiful as the F-117A's.

Well, there's always the F-22. They're operational now but there's not enough of them that a guy can just take off in one.

Oh, yeah, how cool was it those CTU guys popping out from nowhere to take out that sniper?

Definitely not what I expected. I was trying to figure out how Jack was going to avoid being sniped. There's not enough time to react to the sound of a gun being fired and I thought it was made pretty clear that CTU didn't have any personnel on the ground to do their sweep for Marwan's men.

Not to poo poo anyone's knowledge of planes, but I don't know shit about them, but I automatically thought, "Stealth" when they showed just the cockpit. The patheticness comes from knowing anything close to F-117.

But enough about the plane, what about Chloe? She's hot. Jack needs to hook up with her. I'd be cool with that. He'd probably love that she's so cool and distant with some things. Her no nonsense attitude is just what Jack needs after this stupid mess with Audrey. At least he got sex the night before this season takes place, because he won't be getting it from Audrey again.

Poor Edgar...he lost his mom and now he's going to have Chloe as his boss once this is all over. I don't think he knows that since he's treating her like shit at the moment.

I don't think that anyone is after Air Force One now. I did, but it seems that everyone is thinking that so it can't be true. 24 tends to throw things at their viewers that they weren't expecting and makes everyone gasp and say things like "No fucking way!" That is a quote uttered by me and elmono on some occasions with this show.

What the hell was CTU thinking with the tracking devices on Behrooz? That was just dumb. They're terrorists...do you really think that they wouldn't cut into a kid's head to get something out? Especially something that is just below the skin? That was stupid. Instead Behrooz should have been holding something and dropped it inside the van when he was being shoved inside.

At least it was in his head. If it was his arm or leg maybe they just would have cut it off. CTU should know that terrorists operate as badass or worse than them.

I can't think of anything else, but elmono thought that I should post something. Oh, and Audrey looked fairly hot with her hair down. She still is generally gross though.
