I didn't want to post this earlier for fear I'd jinx the whole situation.

After three long years, RichN is employed again!  Whoo hoo!  That's why he hasn't been around too much.  The best part (well, maybe it's not the best part) is that he works for my company.  So we get to commute every day which is invaluable in this area.  Saves a ton on gas.

So join me in congratulating him for being as patient as possible - I kept telling him something would break.

The other part?  After he accepted this contract position, he was contacted by a half dozen other recruiters with possibilities.  For anyone who is discouraged with the job market, things could possible be picking up.

Congrats on the new job.

And yay @ the job market potentially picking up. I applied the other day for a Systems Programmer job downtown at USC. It would suck to work for USC but the pay range is between $33k and $47k I think, so I think, if I were to get hired, I'd probably be pretty safe betting on $40k, which I'd be more than happy with.

Woo hoo! Congrats, Da!

Super...I'd rather you work closer to us, but just a career start would make me very happy for you.

Hell, we're trying to get him to move down here with us.  Then, that might get you guys to move down here also.  Just wishes, I guess.  Thank you for the wellwishes.  It's just on contract because they won't hire spouses, but I'm hoping it becomes a "permanent" contract.
