gots to say, living in BIG 12 land, i have to root for oklahoma. (I go to Nebraska, but have always hated them as a result of the mass hysteria this population has when it comes to Husker football). I'm a Longhorn fan by blood, so i gots to lean to the BIG 12 SOuth, and Oklahomas the only team that continues to dominate us, so i gots to give it up to them.

The Big XII South as a whole conference would be better than the entire Pac-10... Big XII owns the Pac-10 even if you throw in this year's uncharacteristicly weak north (sorry Big Red, heh)... At least Texas didn't get screwed out of a BCS big for a change... that was new

true that, and to tell you the truth, im happy as can be that Nebraska sucked it up this year. Bastards should have given frank solich more of an opportunity. Mr. Tom Osborne, aka God, to these crazy Nebraskans had a worse record in his first few years at NU. Maybe itll help these crazy people realize that their may be more to life than football... oh wait, Tom Osborne is now sitting in the House of Representatives? and might run for governor? Maybe football can get you through life. YEESH.

Agreed... I understand with the logic in firing Solich, but I don't think it was a good decision. You don't want a program to fall stagnant, but I don't think those results for around 3 years is what I'd call stagnant. From that point of view, Bob Stoops should be finding himself in hot water if USC wins this year... you can't get to the title game and keep losing. That's stagnation and isn't what a top notch program is looking for.
The past few years are the time of idiocy in coaching changes. Solich should have been retained. Willingham shouldn't have been fired (ND, wtf were you thinking?). Tommy on the hot seat at Clemson is idiocy (like his father said, it took him 12 years to win his first title). Programs don't seem to understand that if EVERYONE out there is putting 50 million a year into their program, YOU CAN'T ALL WIN, unless you ask USC last year :p
No coach should be given less than 5 years before being reviewed (unless something is horribly wrong). You can't estimate or gauge performance of a system until players that were recruited and trained by the staff are playing in it.

Haha, agreed. Actually, the more I look at everything, AU/OU would be a close game. I don't know who would win... I've said Auburn all along, but I think I'd just rather watch and find out. Sadly, I'll put that right up there with FreeSpace 3 in my "Things that will never happen" list... grr

Ya, I think AU/OU would probably be the better of the two choices for the title. That said, OU/USC could still be a good game.

Could be, but USC has looked pretty flat recently against ND and UCLA. Yes, they blew it open against ND, but how long did that take? And until they did that, they were looking pretty bad. I don't see OU letting them hang around like that if they come out playing that poor. And the UCLA game, we won't even talk about. Champions don't play like that, but I suppose I can give them a break on that for playing pretty darn well the rest of the year. But for the love of everything, don't even try and tell me a damn thing about the strength of the Pac-10.
