This is a link for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's front page today, October 30, 2008.  You know, the day after the Phillies won the World Series?

http://www.ajc.com/?r=t (if you don't link on it today, it will change).

Notice what the lead story is on the left hand side?  The one with the picture?  The f***ing Georgia Bulldogs.  Can you even see where the World Series article is?  No?  Scroll all the way down.  Past the photos of human Halloween costumes and pet costumes and the Halloween treats.  Still don't see it?  Keep scrolling past the entertainment news.  Have to find out what those Real Housewives of Atlanta are up to.  Still don't see it?  Keep scrolling until you finally get to the Sports section.  There it is!!  Second story behind Michael Vick's motion that is going to be heard today.

And here's the complete article http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/shared-gen/ap/Baseball_Game_Stories/BBO_World_Series.html

Big deal.  Dry as a bone.  Stats only.  No reactions, no nothing.  They couldn't even have one reporter stay up past 10:00 PM to at least watch the post game interviews?

This is a baseball town.  The Braves sucked again but you would think some people would still be interested in the World Series, wouldn't you?

And this is Atlanta's only daily newspaper.

Write a letter of complaint to them and threaten to cancel your subscription. They'll probably try to do anything in their power to keep you. Heck, even suggest using the AP or Reuters recap of the game rather than their own sports reporter.

They don't care about their subscribers.  We even get the printed version of the damn thing (Rich needs, absolutely needs to have a newspaper every day.  If he doesn't, he starts to dry up and wither).  If it's not the Bulldogs (there's barely a mention of Georgia Tech anywhere in this state), then it's high school football.

I mentioned that it's a good thing the election is on a Tuesday so college or high school football wouldn't be the headliner.  This is what Rich had to say about that -

"I'm sure there will be some HS football news that will bump election news.  'Johnny QB at Berkmar recently kissed his girlfriend.  Analysis of the event indicates that his 30th girlfriend of the year may be the one he finishes the season with.  We'll bring you all the breaking news as it occurs.'"

And the sad part is, that could seriously happen here.  The ninth more populated metropolis in the United States with over 5,600,000 people and all that dominates sports this time of year is college and high school football.  They don't even cover the Braves that much during the summer!
