I was most interested in these sentences - "A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

"People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free,"

Here's the entire article - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081017/ap_on_he_me/child_health_hawaii

I'm not sure I understand that article at all. They just need to get their guidelines straightened out. Here, in Ohio, the state funded medical insurance is awesome for the children and anyone who could look at what I make and what I have to pay for the children to be on health insurance through my job and think we could survive on what I would bring home can kiss my ass.

This isn't the fault of the people dropping the coverage. Obviously there coverage wasn't that good or they wouldn't have dropped it at all. And why should people have to go broke just to make sure their children stay healthy?

When it comes to children, there shouldn't be barriers to health care, no matter how much the parents make. Get the guidelines in order and remember, the state approved them for this. Here, there's a good chance you won't get approved if you're eligible for other private insurance. In my case, the state thought the price of my insurance was shit so they covered my family.

I wish that people that can afford insurance would stop finding loopholes it seems like the more some people have the more they want for free. I dont make much eather and I pay through the nose to cover my family and never think of trying to pull the crap that these upper class apes pull and they get away with it.
