And people were actually in the audience to watch that?

No wonder the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

To be honest, battles are pretty interesting. It does take some skill to improvise on the spot to a beat like that. It was also one of the plot points of the movie 8 Mile, which is surprisingly good.

I liked 8 Mile - even have it in the collection.

I was more referring to the name calling, infurring sexual contacts with mothers, and general smack talking that people cheer.  I don't mind rap but it sure goes downhill when the lyrics are foul just for the sake of being foul.  I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination but it's like going out and saying f*** just to say f***.

Yes, I did.  I actually thought it presented Eminem in a very understandable light.  It's not something I would watch over and over again (or show to your grandparents) but it was a very well done film.

Kind of funny since my mom only lived about and hour and a half away from Three Mile Island while growing up Smiley

And was a senior in high school when the accident happened.  And before anyone starts making jokes about the accident, the affect on the surrounding population was less than a normal X-ray.

And I also lived close to the Limerick and Berwick nuclear power plants as well.

Davis-Besse nuclear power plant is not far from us... you won't believe how close we came to being in the middle of a nuclear meltdown. Apparently inspectors at the plant discovered a crack in the reactor that was about less than an inch away from breaching it.
