Hope y'all're doing good and greetings from the Far East!  I just got here today and should be here for about the next 50-60 days.  Amazing where the job'll take you, though this should be far more enjoyable than the desert!

Yeah, I would have to say Japan is much preferred over the Middle East. Have fun over there with those crazy Japanese and, to me, their somewhat odd culture.

Damn, wish I would have known you were going.  Rich has some Japanese coins he needs to get rid of.  Disney World only exchanges paper money.

Haha, I've already picked up my token amount of yen... the area is beautiful, but sooooo humid!  I got to see some traditional Okinawan dances out in town today (along with the drumming and koto playing associated with it).  Also got my first Japanese meal in Japan... not too much different from stateside honestly.  Saw a swarm of cicadas today, each one's as big as your fist here.  The bats (fruit bats, thank god) are HUGE!  we're talking as big as my arm or more.  pretty neat place though.  looking forward to seeing more of it on my "off days".

You should take pics of the cicadas and bats, if you get the chance.

Why did I not remember that you were going so soon? You'd think I'd have remembered that you said July and August. I guess I don't even know what month it is!

A friend of mine was just there at the end of July. Maybe I'll link her slideshow so Rolando doesn't have to do all the work. LOL. I think she was in Kyoto.
