He died Sunday of heart failure at the age of 71.

I don't think there is a single comedian today, black or white, that didn't get influenced in some way by George Carlin.  He spoke his mind and he didn't care.  The Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television is a classic and will always be a classic.  I looked up the seven words just now to see if you can say any of them these days.  Only one, "tits", which he, at the time, said shouldn't have even really been on the list.

One of my favorite routine of his was about the difference between "shit" and "stuff" in a marriage.  "This is MY stuff".  "That's YOUR shit".  That's the difference.  What is yours is "stuff", what is your mate's is "shit".

I just saw this today. Man, oh, man. Such a shame. Here comes the threes (with Stan Winston dying earlier... or is this the third one with Russett... who I don't even know?)

I didn't know who Russett was either but been reading a lot about him.  I guess he was to the political world what Spielberg is to the entertainment industry.  Someone said Russett used a white board to perfectly explain the 2000 election.  And we all know what a PITA that one was.

We need good news!

Can't say I ever cared for Carlin.  He used profanity as a crutch in my opinion.  Most of his jokes weren't funny.  He just swore until people laughed.
