I know everyone on here is too "cool" to watch American Idol but Rich and I do.  He blames elmono because Rich extended a business trip a few years ago to visit elmono and family and got bored and there was nothing on except American Idol.  So he got hooked and then hooked me the next year.

Anyway, last night there was a bit of an upset.  David Cook is the new American Idol and not the teenage girl favorite, David Archuletta.  Archuletta is 17 and as bland as white paint.  The girls loved him but there was no way in hell anyone in their right mind would be listening to the radio and hope a David Archuletta song came on.  David Cook is a rocker and proved himself fairly well last night performing with ZZ Top.  Cook could be the next Daughtry (who was cut from American Idol in the finals).

Cook went to Omaha to support his brother who was auditioning.  He ended up getting convinced to audition as well.  He made it, his brother didn't.  It really is a great story and I hope Cook goes on and has a fantastic career because he's one of the few Idols that has a chance.

I actually watched this season of American Idol. *shock horror*

The better singer definitely won in my opinion. I absolutely couldn't stand Hyuk Hyuk. I wanted to reach into the TV and stab him every time he was on screen. So unbelievably annoying.

I couldn't stand the girls screaming "Archie, I love you!!!!!!" every five seconds.  Rich wanted to know just how those teenagers were able to get into the studio.

Oh well, both David Cook and David Archuletta have recording contracts now and a nice hybrid vehicle.  Ford, of course.

I'd turn right around and sell my Ford hybrid off. Then get a Civic hybrid with the money.
