Repeated head trauma can cause brain damage

« on: Feb 26, 2005, 10:56 AM »

Ugh, I've been getting so frustrated with my mouse cord these past few days. I had it taped down just right before I had to move my case and now I can't get it back right and it's driving me crazy. Anyone else have extreme issues with their mouse cord that make you want to go to the store and just buy a wireless mouse, price be damned?

I just had to rant, sorry Smiley

theyre not that expensive dude.  I LOVE my optical/wireless mouse and recommend the switch anyday.  I change the batteries (rechargeables) maybe every 2 or 3 months.

Naw, I know they're not that expensive. The one I want is like $60 or $70, though. Trust me, that will be one of the first computer things I buy when I get a job. I've had enough fun with this wire.

Super has heard me complain about my mouse cord before. Sometimes mine gets caught in my desk drawer or between my subwoofer. Sometimes a friggin cat decides to lay on it. I gotta have a lot of slack here, cats!

I have to have enough slack to move freely, but not so much to be inhibitive... I'm quite particular.  The mouse has to have just the right resistance... hehe

Same here. It can't slow me down in any way at all.

gots to say, i'd take a mouse cord almost anyday over this stupid laptop mouse pad.  I love my new laptop but hate the little touchpad thingys, i always manage to inadvertantly hit it while typing sending my typing to whever the cursor was floating. YAR!!

You know what would really be entertaining?  A mouse chord.  Like you step on a live mouse and get a B-flat.

You'll get used to the touchpad, Rolando. I did. I had a bear of a time using it at first, not only controlling it (which I'm now quite decent at) but also hitting it while typing. If your laptop has a way to disable the touchpad, you can do that while you're typing long things if you have no need for a mouse. My laptop has a switch right above the touchpad that disables it. I leave it off all the time, but that's mainly because I have my MX500 attached to the laptop.

still not liking the touchpad I have to say.  I am becoming more comfortable with it true, but that don't mean I have to LIKE it.

Well the touchpad is better than the titmouse that some laptops have.

So, now that you have a job, did you get a wireless mouse?

No. I don't use my desktop enough to really warrant the purchase of a wireless mouse. I do, however, have a wireless keyboard and mouse at work and love them. The keyboard spazzes out from time to time so I have to have an old PS/2 keyboard hooked up for when the wireless one goes on the fritz, but I've never had any problems with the mouse. It's wonderful.

I use my laptop primarily at home. Really only use the desktop for gaming and most of my gaming is racing and I of course use the wheel for that. That and my new desk allows for me to secure the mouse cord in such a fashion that it's really not a problem. I'm able to secure it to the top of the desk instead of to the top of the tower sitting below the mouse. Works out a lot better. But yeah, most of the time, I'm just chillin' in my chair with my laptop and I just use the touchpad for that. Works perfectly fine for internet and AIM.
