Whoo hoo!!!!  There's finally a grass roots campaign by the commonors in Georgia to get Sunday sales in this freaking backwards state.  We're only one of three states to flat out not have Sunday sales at all.  The petition came be seen at www.petitiononline.com/GASB138/petition.html.  The GASB has to be in capital letters.  If you agree with it and know someone who lives in the stae of Georgia who would like to sign it, please let them know.

ROLANDO - CHECK IT OUT!!

The leaders of this fair state will not believe or even try to believe that three quarters of the state when polled supported Sunday sales (about 68% in the last poll).  So they will never even put this on the ballot to be vote on.  It would not be a statewide thing.  Each county and municipality would vote individually so we could have dry counties or cities.  All we want is a chance to decide ourselves.

Most restaurants in the state are allowed Sunday sales.  So in the state of Georgia, if you want to drink on a Sunday, you hae to drink.  Makes sense, doesn't it?

And even if you don't care about this subject - the petitiononline site is a pretty cool one.  You can create your own petition for whatever for free.

It makes it damn tough when there are races on Sundays.  And you want to know why AMS doesn't sell out.  Rednecks can't get beer on that day!

Most rednecks are smart enough to load up ahead of time, or at least this one does.  We still drink just as much on Sunday, we just buy it on Saturday.

There's also (probably) private clubs that you can go to and buy on Sunday. There was one in Clemson. They stayed open past midnight on Saturday night and I'm pretty sure you could go in and buy a 6-pack on Sundays.

We are too.  But you should have seen the look on our friend's face when he came to town for a Falcons game.  He didn't get to our house until after 11:30 on Saturday night.  We asked him if he stopped for beer on his way since we were tailgating at the game.  He said "I'll just get it tomorrow on the way to the game, what's the big deal?"  The four Georgians had a VERY good laugh with that one.  And we figured he would do this so we had a extra case for him.

Chris - this was Dennis, BTW.
