Hey folks! Yup, its true! I took the plunge!
I went up to Huntsville to meet my girlfriend's parents and ask the big question. Now I know it's not that common anymore to ask the 'rents, but our situations a little different. Jai's originally from South Korea and didn't move to the US til she was 9. Her parents are very old-school and traditional (they eat nothing but Korean food, and speak Korean 95 percent of the time). So based on that, I made sure to get their blessings first. They were cool with it, and her dad was particularly more talkative and happy than I expected him to be.
It just so happens that we're both getting ready to leave next week for a nice spot in the sand for a couple months, so we were also taking her dog up so her parents could watch her while we're gone. SO after getting their blessings, I hid the ring in the dog's kennel. Then I asked her to come over and take a look at the kennel cuz something was wrong, and popped the question then. And to boot, she said "Yes!"
I know, I know she must be crazy or something. Just wanted y'all to know. More to follow, but the wedding's looking to be the Saturday after THanksgiving later this year here in Warner Robins.

Congratulations! I think it's great you respected the parents to ask their permission. Well wishes from north Georgia.

We would have loved one, but I think that ship has sailed. Yet another reason why I should check on here more often.

I could be wrong, but I think I've still got invitations left. Just send me your address (not on the forum, dont need people staking out where you live) and I'll shoot one off.
