Added the cancellations of Cane, Cashmere Mafia, Welcome to the Captain, Las Vegas, and Journeyman. Also, there are numerous shows close to being axed, including: The Unit (I thought this show got good ratings), How I Met Your Mother (same), Moonlight, Rules of Engagement, The New Adventures of Old Christine (again, I thought it got good ratings), Notes from the Underbelly, October Road, Men in Trees, Eli Stone, Women's Murder Club, Miss/Guided, Canterbury's Law, The Return of Jezebel James, Unhitched, and Back to You

Updated list to reflect Prison Break's renewal for a fourth season.

Yeah, I've been liking the Unit this season. Last season, however, was a disappointment. Thankfully things picked up this season despite *shakes fist* a certain death.

Women's Murder Club is getting a second shot.  They are redoing a lot of it.  I know Angie Harmon is staying and she's getting a love interest (aka boyfriend).  Rich likes Eli Stone and Canterbury's Law just started!

The last word on The Unit is that it wasn't returning "in order to make room for the new shows".  The cast is still under contract until they officially cancel the show.  Which sucks because they could be out getting other things if it does get canceled.  Too much talent on there.

Added the cancellations of ..., Las Vegas, ....

Las Vegas isn't quit totally dead yet.  Yeah, it's canceled but Gary Scott Thompson and NBC have been in "negotiations" to have a two hour finale movie.  As of yesterday, NBC offered to reshoot the ending of the "to be continued" episode and then show that again as the finale.  Thompson, rightfully, said no way - that the fans would be cheated.  Like we're so stupid as to not remember what happened the first time around.  The second offering was to put something out on nbc.com explaining what the ending would have been.  Thompson, again rightfully, turned that down.  The idea of that two hour movie is the only thing Thompson wants.  Enough of the sets survived that shotting an true ending would be easy.  But a two hour movie is expensive.

And the thing that really kills Thompson is that the "to be continued" was not supposed to be the season ender like he expected the show to be renewed.  There were three more episodes to go but those got canned because of the strike.  Las Vegas and its fans are true victims of the writer's strike.

Welcome to the Captain is OK, but I can live without it.

I haven't even gotten to see much of Canterbury's Law. I'm surprised they're cancelling it already.

I love K-Ville and will miss it a lot. I enjoyed it and I liked the community service the show was providing to the area.

I'm going to be seriously pissed if they take away my Eli Stone. Women's Murder Club, Cashmere Mafia and Miss Guided also happen to be new loves of mine.

Moonlight is good. I could handle it if it was gone, but I'd rather not have to deal with that loss if possible.

Updated some things with the returning shows list, including the returns of Men in Trees and Women's Murder Club.

The biggest addition, however, was NBC's new fall lineup. Also, a spinoff to the Office was announced and will debut after the Super Bowl next February.

CBS announced some new shows, set to be officially unveiled on Wednesday...

The Ex List - romantic comedy based on a show from Israel about a woman who contacts all of her former boyfriends after a prophet tells her she has already met the man she's going to marry.

The Mentalist - about a former "celebrity psychic" who admits the psychic claim was a fraud but now uses his observational skills to work as a contractor with law enforcement.

Eleventh Hour - from Jerry Bruckheimer, based on a British miniseries, focuses on a science professor who advises a government agency, helping to track down evildoers.

Harper's Island - a murder mystery set among old friends who meet for a wedding on an island off Seattle.

Worst Week of My Life - based on a British series about a young couple's frantic week before their wedding.

Untitled Ed Yeager Comedy - a recently divorced man copes with his new life. (How much do you want to bet the title will be Divorced or something similar?)

Here's some for Fox...

Fringe - from JJ Abrams, stars Joshua Jackson as an FBI agent investigating unexplained phenomena.

The Inn - a half-hour multicamera comedy following the rough-around-the-edges staff of a posh New York City hotel.

Sit Down, Shut Up - an animated adaptation of the live-action Australian series of the same name. The comedy, from Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz and featuring the voices of Arrested's Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, centers on teachers at a high school who put their own lives way ahead of their students.

And the connection between Fox and CBS? CBS seems interested in picking up Back to You from Fox so it may not be canceled after all. The only reason why Back to You was canned was because it was too expensive... odd considering Fox has such high production shows like Prison Break, 24, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles... and Back to You is a 30 minute sitcom...

I'll be Fox cancels The Fringe and The Inn during the first 13 weeks if not sooner.  Unless either one of those is a straight out of the gate blockbuster.  Fox is the network of shows that could have been if they were given a bit more time.

More from tvguide.com this morning (probably just got this in before elmono) -

Eli Stone is coming back.

October Road and Women's Murder Club have been canceled.

Scrubs is officially moving to ABC for the last season.

Reaper has been renewed (YES!)

The Unit will be back, probably on Friday night at 9:00.  No word on what will happen to Moonlight which is currently in that slot.

How I Met Your Mother is, of course, renewed.

No word on The New Adventures of Old Christine but ABC will pick that up if it's not renewed by CBS.

So - Back to You moves from Fox to CBS, Scrubs moves from NBC to ABC, New Adventures of Old Christine could move from CBS to ABC.  Anyone keeping up with the rotating shows?  Madness.

1 VS 100 was canceled?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Damn!!!!!  Crap!!!!!!!!

We love quiz shows and this one was corny but at least it stretched our minds from time to time. Oh well - Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader seems to be solid.  Quiz shows are so much better than those reality shows (Oprah's Big Give? - come on - she could give $1 million to 100 people and stop making money off this show).

Fox has announced its lineup so all five networks have their set schedules (see original post for schedules). The Inn has also been renamed to Do Not Disturb and there is a possibility of a House spinoff with a private eye character introduced next season.

EDIT: Wow, I just noticed something... Mondays next season are going to friggin spectacular: Chuck, Heroes, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Prison Break, all followed up by the camp that is CSI: Miami. I still deem thee the new Badass Monday (especially since 24 will continue to air on Mondays in Prison Break's timeslot)

Now that we're partway through the TV season, what has been cancelled?
Easy Money (CW), Valentine (CW), Do Not Disturb (Fox), Lipstick Jungle (NBC), The Ex List (CBS), Pushing Daisies (ABC), Eli Stone (ABC), Dirty Sexy Money (ABC), My Own Worst Enemy (NBC), and Knight Rider (NBC). 'Til Death has been pulled from Fox's schedule but will apparently be back later aka it'll be shoved into some weird timeslot and slowly killed. Add onto this if I missed any.
