Whoo hoo!!!  Warner-Robbins beat the champion from Japan to win the World Series of Little League.  3-2 in the eight inning (two extra innings) with a walk off home run that was just crushed out of the field.

Congrats to all the kids on all the Little League teams who made it to Williamsport, PA.

Suh weet.  It's actually Warner Robins:).  What a weird city... we didn't exist until shortly before the base opened, and then they renamed if after a guy who had a part in bringing the base to town haha.  It's an interesting place to live to be sure.

Well, maybe just a little more payback.  The bus in which the Japanese team was riding caught fire on the way from Williamsport to the Baltimore Airport.  Another team from Taipai was also on the bus.  The bus was evacuated with no injuries but a bunch of scared kids and a few scared adults as well.  The teams did make it to the airport safely after another bus was dispatched.  The damage was in the engine and mostly at the rear of the bus.

So the Japanese kids and the Taiwanese kids were able to co-exist without killing each other? Japan and China historically hate each other, with Taiwan being the remnants of the Chinese pre-Communist government of WWII so I'm assuming Taiwanese would have ill feelings against the Japanese as well, considering the Japanese invasion totally screwed over the civil war China was going through at the time.

Sorry about the historical tangent, but I'm one of the few people who keep this board alive with mindless stuff Smiley *looks at Super who could easily post new things as well...*

Yes, I'm sure there are many people on here that would just love to hear about databinding and the new features of .NET 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008.

I love how China bullies Taiwan for international sports by forcing them to call themselves Chinese Taipei

My in-laws were actually at the Little League World Series (as they are every year since my mother-in-law was born and raised in Williamsport).  The war ain't over.  My mother-in-law said they didn't watch the final game because Japan was in it.

I didn't think of it that way.  I'm sure if I said something, I would get the fact that most of the car is made in America or Mexico or somewhere other than Japan.

Grandma wouldn't know.  She'd say "I don't know, Dave said to get it".
