Our weekly Saturday night trivia.  We're in third place going into the final question which is always a freaking hard question.  The night's final question.  Category - Movies - I have five sets of eyes shift to me for the answer.  Rules - you cannont look the answer up to this question.  No IMDb - we're at a restaurant so no internet.  No phone calls, no outside sources at all.  The guy plays two songs while we are thinking of the answer so give yourself six minutes to answer.

"Of these four movies, name the one that came out first".

Crocodile Dundee
Back to the Future
Three Men and a Baby
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

No hints were given for anything.  But I will tell you (1) we got it wrong and (2) there was one movie on that list that I absolutely, positively, 100% knew what year it came out.  My challenge was to figure out the release years of the other three.  Obviously, I failed.

Clock ticking.......

well, I had to use IMDB to find the answer.  Interesting!  I won't give it away though.

Let me see if I got it right...

*pause as it's looked up*

Son of a... guess not. Funny, it was the one I absolutely knew the year for

We didn't pick the one I know absolutely knew the year for.  I thought that was the last movie to be released.  What really killed me is a team of two ten year old girls got it right.

Another hint - two of the movies were released in the same year.  Neither one of them was the correct answer.

And the year it was released was mentioned a considerable amount of times in the movie itself...

And would you believe NO ONE at the table (we had six, including me) would belive me when I was insistant on knowing the year?  NO ONE?

Anyway, for those of you you don't know or don't care...

I knew Back to the Future was 1985.  I believe that's the one elmono also knew the year for.  And he's right, it's mentioned about 100 times during the movie.  The original movie was set in 1985, the sequel on 2015 and 1985, the third one in 1885.

I figured two of the movies were released in the same year but thought 1986 for Three Men and a Baby.  I was correct in Ferris Bueller and 1986 (thinking about when Dirty Dancing and Platoon came out since Bueller was the first screen roles for Jennifer Grey and Charlie Sheen).  Three men and Baby came out in 1987 and was probably the last decent film Steve Guttenberg made without someone taking pity on him.  I totally screwed up with Crocdile Dundee.  I thought 1984.  That one also came out in 1986.

So - first to come out Back to the Future (1985), Crocdile Dundee (99186), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) and then Three Men and a Baby (1987).

So the one I absolutely knew was the first.  Damn Crocodile Dundee!
