I was just wondering a couple of the maps that I downloaded were .map files, but they do not show up in the map list when I want to change a map. Do I just change it over to .bsp? or will that not work? Also, I was wondering some good sites with lots of maps. I see people have over 500 I have around 300 maybe a little more.

Spook, I'm curious just how many of those are jump maps.

I wiped out a huge huge assortment of maps I've collected over an 8 year period when I almost quit DP a bit back and I had nowhere near that many.

Are you sure you're not accidently counting texture, map info, wav files or file types other than actual .bsp map extensions?

.map files are the sources.  You need the .bsp files to play (and no, you can't just rename .map to .bsp.  Those files need to be compiled).

You don't need to worry about this unless you're actually making maps.

If you are making maps, read the bsp tutorial thread stickied in this forum.

You can do a batch convert or a file|save as, I believe.
