[Vengeance]

As a woman that has a certain past I'm supposedly supposed to hang off of her every lyric. I'll get stoned for this by some people that I know, but I just can't stand her. I don't get her music and I certainly don't go out of my way to listen to her. Am I missing something? I did like her song from Twister, but that one was just good. Tallulah was the name of it I think. I just liked the sound of it and it felt kind of freeing.

Okay, any fans of her that want to blast me to hell for saying that I don't like her?

Can't say that I'm a fan but I do have her doing a cover of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" that is quite good. Kind of... haunting.

i wont blast you to hell for not liking her.  For me its a combination of her sultriness and her voice.  Her voice is so damn sexy that she could literally just make up words and i would enjoy it.  And she is haunting.  Her music is often heavier than a lot of the metal i listen to, and theres not a single guitar or drum in there most of the time. 
     I second Super on her cover of "Enjoy the Silence".  FOr those of you who may be Eminem fans (I'm not but appreciate his talent), she does a cover of "97 Bonnie and CLyde" which is the scariest song i have ever heard.  When Eminem did it, it was the shocking song in which he talked about killing his wife at the time Kim, throwing her in the trunk and then him and his daughter go throw her in a lake.  The song is him explaining this to the daughter.  Well Toris not all up in your face like Eminem and she makes it into the true eery haunting experience that such acts should seem.  Eminem was almost trivializing death, whereas she puts much more weight into it making it scary.  Good stuff.

Maybe I haven't given her a chance because her music was presented to me in a way where I just had to like her or I wasn't normal. I'll try her again and just focus on the music. Like I said, I loved Tallulah and then I found out that she sang it and balked. I suppose I'll start listening to her and you'll find out that I love her. LOL

ha, i recommend starting wtih the Strange Little Girls album.  Its not the first, but it IS all covers, so they might be songs youd know.  Really good stuff as she does songs from a bevy of artists including Depeche Mode, Neil Young, John Lennon, the Beatles, Eminem, and Slayer (ha, she does a cover of Reign in Blood which is just piano and her, i dont like slayer, so its a much better version).  also a couple other 70s and 80s artists.

Oy. I still don't understand half of her freaking lyrics, the songs that I do know and like are because of how they were presented to me. Otherwise, I can take or leave her.
