She needs to work on hockey first since she's a Canuck wannabe. Here's a link: http://www.firstbasesports.com/hockey_glossary.html

Actually, lacrosse would be the first Canadian sport to work on since it's the official sport of Canada But really, yeah, hockey would be the first thing you need to learn about Canadian sports. It may not be the official sport, but it is the sport.

ElMono, you need to buy or make a floor hockey (street hockey w/o skates) for your household. Then you, bcpassion, Vengeance, and demonchild can play hockey in the driveway. Floor hockey, along with broomball, were the only two sports i played consistently in college. building a set of nets and 4 sticks would cost far less than a basketball hoop or something like that.
bcpassion, the key to american football is college football. Even if you dont understand the game completely, its all about picking a team that is nowhere near where you are... for instance, i live in the crazy Cornhusker state, where there really is for all intents and purposes one team. SO, I'm a diehard Longhorn fan even though i go to Cornhusker U. I can guarantee once i move out of Nebraska, i'll probably become a Nebraska fan, cuz not too many other people like them. So, being in Ohio, you should pick Michigan, Purdue, Notre Dame or Penn State, haha. One of those rivals of Ohio State.

Oh, prepare for your death. She is strictly Ohio State. I had to endure her wrath when I was forced to choose between Ohio State and Michigan. Yes, forced, when I could care less about college football and I'm an outsider when it comes to that rivalry.
Back in Virginia, my dad and I used to play hockey all the time in the living room. That's when we went to Washington Capitals games all the time. My grandfather built me goals out of plastic pipes and fishing nets. They lasted for a very long time until their deaths a few years after moving to Nebraska.
Oh, boy, imagine Demon Child with a hockey stick... she'd be smacking us with it all the time...

but you could also smack her (well until they start crying, they can smack you and its alright, but doesnt always work both ways)!!! yeah sounds like you had the kind of nets im talkin about. Just use some PVC piping and netting, and bam, nets for about 20 bucks. ours have lasted us weekly 5 hour games for the past 4 years on campus. And most of these guys are not small. We had a few women play too, and a couple of em were even fiestier than the guys, they had no qualms about checkin you against the tennis nets at full force. We came out each week feeling like Gladiators. How can she be strictly Ohio state is she doesnt know sports? My only qualm with Ohio State is their mascot. People can make fun of Maryland all they want, but a terrapin is still more frightennig than the seed of a tree. Hell, even Kent State is the Golden Flashes. That sounds more intimindating than a Buckeye.

Watch it! OSU rocks and so does their mascot. Don't make me meet you under bad circumstances. I could take a buckeye and shove it up....
LMAO. Just kidding. I only get mean when they play Michigan.
And at least we're not chickens like USC. That team is just dumb.

i listened to the chilliwack chiefs hockey game last night online. Wish I could've watched it, too. Chief Wannawin walked around all night. Had a Kodak moment when my man told him I was from Ohio. He gave me a hug. Wish we had the camera with us that night.

true, true, i just go to school there... not sure which is worse, them being the Cornhuskers or their former name of the Bugeaters. a cornhusker would still have no problem picking apart a Buckeye given their unque skill, no matter how dumb it is... and needless to say a chicken can still eat a seed. though the seed can choke the chicken and make its bitchass die!

YEP! Disnut8 - Trying not to laugh out loud. "Are you OK?" Elmono - thinking his father is dying "I'm sorry" RichN - " " - he couldn't speak. Years later two out of the three can laugh. Guess which one can't?

bcpassion did pretty well with football. I'd say somewhere in the third quarter she realized that the Eagles were from Philly.

Amen. Growing up in Germany (i was born there), i learned two sports; Basketball (my dad liked it) and SOCCER. this is what i grew up playing, there was a HUGE field within a block from my house over there. However, when i got here in 1987, it hadnt yet become the crazy "take your kids to practice in your minivan" sport that it became in the 90s, so i really had no outlet. Unfortunately, i never really got back to it, but i still enjoy watching it.

Someone else will have to teach her that. I have no clue except they have to kick the ball into the net.
