I sent her an email:
I wanted to write and tell you how much I appreciated your feedback on my column. It's very important to me to get different views and I agree with you on your points.
If my article had been about porn addiction and not on the mislabeling of a porn addict, your points would have been included in the column.
I am so sorry if you were offended by the misunderstanding. I simply did not go deeper into the subject by talking about addiction. My subject was the pornography viewer who was NOT addicted. It's why I stated porn addiction was real and dangerous.
I enjoyed your letter, though, and hope you continue to take an interest in helping to promote education by using the BG News as a forum for healthy debate.
And looking at the column again, I have to admit the title of it makes it seem like I'm saying addiction is harmless fun. Unfortunately, I don't see headlines until it's in the paper. I don't write them.
Kind of like my transgender article that had the headline that said 'Unprotected Sex'. Considering it has nothing to do with sex and I knew that, it was a bit awkward seeing that headline.

Hopefully we can continue to correspond over issues like this. I really did appreciate and agree with your points.
You're very articulate. Ever consider journalism?
Good luck and thanks again,
Chandra
