Sort of a vague question, but if you're talking about P2P, there is no such thing. If you're looking at bittorrent, it's a different deal entirely and none are intrusive (uTorrent is the best, though). If you're talking about inter-system file sharing, whatever normal stuff you can set up with user account control is best (whether that's windows file sharing, samba or NFS). If you can elaborate a bit more on what you're looking for, I'm glad to help

uTorrent it will be. Although P2P look a little less time consuming to set. Is this the link I should download from? http://www.utorrent.com/

Downloaded and pleased at GUI and performance and yet disappointed. Please assist.
What is the simplest way to play .NSF files?
I want to make it as simply as possible without downloading every single Media player on the net.

I don't think I've ever even heard of .nsf files before. Are they video or audio?

Merc, Both. NSF = Nullsoft Audio/video.
Knack, Yeah um wish my virgin PC luck.
Did a search for UFC utorrent. Found UFC 67. I was happy as a kid in 1998 downloading porn with a cable modem.
End result....Holy shit! I am fired (perhaps).... I will explain after file is played and computer double checked.
Downloading...Loial thanks thee!
Which one of you want a Kiss?
Problem. I downloaded nullsofts player.
Enlightenment moment. Knacks link, which was found by me already. How ever I followed my nose (where it goes) So went back into my file ran my freaking mouse over the file by accident and shit...."NSF please install Winamp and disable shuffle"
Resolution. Followed virtual pop up instructions via win XP.

What I was afraid of is happening.
This has become as complicated to a novice as a really user friendly newsgroup reader would be.
I understand the need to compress and encrypt when transmitting sever gigs of data. But why are the file associated not given at the time of downloading and I am having less and less success with searches. Needs a 'torrent for dummies'. Please help suggest best source.
Thanks,
Craig

Where are you getting the torrents? And what are the file extensions that you're downloading?

Where should I be getting torrents from?
Most hits do not list the file association

Torrent sites like isohunt or torrentspy or the pirate bay.
The torrent files themselves will be .torrent files which can be opened using a program like uTorrent. Whatever it is you're downloading could be any type of file.

Be careful with The Pirate Bay, that's the torrent site that's been getting a lot of flak lately with the authorities.

So why is there a search function built into the GUI? Can you customize the results field? (doubt it but worth a shot to ask)

What program are you using?
Every time I've ever gotten a torrent, it's been just a .torrent file from a torrent site.

utorrent. I was using the search field in the GUI utorrent provides. Was using. Went to spytorrent. Must I register to get full use? aaf-wanderlei.silva.ffp.cd1.r01 This is what I got from utorrents search.

Just do a search through TorrentSpy's or Isohunt's search engines for what you want. uTorrent will take care of the rest when you click on Download.
And Spytorrent doesn't even look like a legit torrent site.

I've never used spytorrent before. I use torrentspy most of the time.
A .r01 file is part of a RAR archive. If you download the whole torrent, you should get .r02, .r03, .r04, etc. files, and (maybe, not necessarily) at the end, a .rar file. You should be able to open up any of the completed RAR files and unpack the archive.

Oh, yeah, those funky files. Just unRAR one of them... just one of them... and WinRAR will take care of unRARing all the files and combining them all together

I've never used spytorrent before. I use torrentspy most of the time. + = Me Oh. My friends are going to laugh now......I will let you know how that goes, the torrents, not the laughs. THANKS! *edit And Spytorrent doesn't even look like a legit torrent site. First thought that popped up when I saw his comment. I must cleanse my self now.
