I have to write a summary/reaction paper to a movie. My teacher gave me a list and I chose The Other Sister because I've seen it before and I don't want to think a whole lot.

Anyone want to give me their reaction to the movie and I can use some of it in my paper? Yeah, I know...nobody likes it. hehehe

Here's the list of the ones I have to choose from.

Seen it
As Good As It Gets
Girl, Interrupted
The Other Sister
What About Bob
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Heard of it
The Prince of Tides
A Beautiful Mind(this one is required)
Don't Say a Word
Phenomenon
Rain Man
Fatal Attraction
I Am Sam

No clue
Donnie Darko
Pollack
Shine
Angela
Tom & Viv
Primal Fear
Mad Love
Amadeus
Sybil
Snake Pit
Identity

Any suggestions on what to do next or what to stay away from?

Don't know much about any of those, but Amadeus is good.

We chatted about this last night but here's my two cents (and that's about all it's worth) -

I was wrong about A Beautiful Life.  That's the one with Russell Crowe.  Not bad.

As Good As It Gets has one good line in it.  I like Jack Nicholson, think Greg Kinnear is great, tolerate Helen Hunt.  I kept waiting for the movie to get better.  It didn't.  It really was as good as it gets and it's not in our DVD collection.

Saw Girl Interrupted and turned it off halfway through.  The Other Sister, OK.  What About Bob, boring.

Now, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - definte hit there.

Of the others, Phenonemon is great and I think you'll like it.  Same with Rain Man.  Fatal Attraction is a great debate movie.

Primal Fear is good as well.  Sybil is good if it's the Sally Field made for TV movie.  However, it's disturbing so be prepared.

Amadeus, Pollack and Shine are all biographics.  All had the lead actors nominated for Oscars.

Pollack kicked ass, its bout abstract artist Jackson Pollack, Ed Harris starred, good stuff.

Phenomenon was awesome, Travolta gets.... powers.  also very sensitive, chick flicky.

Cukoo's Nest- Jack Nicholson, what else can i say.

Rain man was good, but i think id pick another one.  same with Fatal Attraction [story of infidelity starring Michael Douglas, this movie explains what can happen if you ever cheat on your spouse, good but depressing]

Donnie Darko is supposed to be really good, but i honestly cant say anything about it.

I've always wanted to see I Am Sam so that's a possible one you could get since I'd watch it with you.

Heh, Phil of the Venaculas loves Amadeus and I have no reason why. Amadeus is played by Tom Hulce who you may remember as Larry Kroger (Pinto) from Animal House.

Ah, Pinto.  I can just remember the scene with the devil and angel on his shoulders, while in a quandary as to whether to have sex with the passed out daughter of the mayor.  Classic.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest is a classic.  Don't know much about the rest of your movies.

Donnie Darko was an absolutely great movie.  Some weird twists to it, but it was a really really good one.  I need to get around to buying that one...  Identity was also a good one
