Could my HUD be made to show my deaths as well as the other stuff?

But then you'll get GBL'd for playing with a modified binary.

The HUD is actually done server side anyway.  Getting a death display would require some severe hackery.

yep...i know that from hacking other games like maple story. you can only hack whats stored on your client. i dont know whats stored on your client in DP (probably number of paintballs) but thats all you can hack. for that you would need a UCE and scan and edit the addresses of DP. but no, you cant.

I was thinking more along the lines of downloading the source code, then hooking up a function that draws your death count from a variable that is updated each time there is a scoreboard update payload sent to your client... but hey, like you suggest you can monitor PB2's memory space and do the same thing  with OpenGL hooks to be l33t.

It makes it easier to just look at your HUD instead or pressing "showscore" bind. I have a habit of looking at my score constantly, can't help it.

Keep a tally on a pad near your computer. You've got a few seconds after you die, anyway. Why not use it?

I would vote for it. I proposed it myself on the forum before it crashed. It gets old having to look at the score, and I would rather have that information than the streak...primarily because putting together a streak for me is a challenge

I agree with the streak (as far as I don't need it), because I only notice the streak to make fun of me owning my own clan members.

Yeah, a while ago I made a paintball that had scriptable HUD's and I noticed that you couldnt retrieve deaths the same way kills or streak.

Speaking of stuff started awhile ago, have you tried creating new font for the game?

I created some custom fonts quite a while ago, but never released them, I'm pretty sure I was one of the first persons that edited the pics to change the HUD's except I never released them.

Heh, and last thing I did related to paintball2 was to make paintball2 read menu files that looked like this...

What that did was kind of like a slider, I just did it for testing. Except I kinda broke the program and cant get it to work anymore lol.
