I'd tell all of you to suck my left tit if Mitchell didn't need the milk.

What's the deal with blaming the media all the time? Christiane Amanpour has done nothing to deserve being lumped in with the celebrity hounds you're talking about.

And the media regarding 24 hasn't caused shit. I've watched the programs and they're just reporting what people want to say.

You try being a journalist in a situation like that. You don't report it, and you get people bitching you're a racist, a bigot, and generally biased.

You do report it and you get people like all of you making judgements.

Sadly, the media reports what the majority wants. You're not in the majority and I don't think any of you can say you've skipped over weird news or crazy news in favor of a day's worth of foreign policy reports.

Never mind. I'll go pump. Then you can all suck on that left tit after all.

I guess the majority wants to believe a show is straight out labeling Muslims as terrorists when they haven't been. Or the majority cares what Brangelina is doing in New Orleans. Or the majority really cares that Lindsey Lohan went to rehab once again and likes getting it piled down their throats to the point where people despise her because the media overexposes things like that.

Actually, I want to be known as a White-Female-Atheist-German-Polish-American, thank you very much.  Christmas and Easter should be banned.  I want an apology for being subjected to any mention of Jesus, Christ, Our Lord, or God.  If someone calls me a "girl", I want an apology.  If a guy wolf-whistles at me on the street, I want an apology (not like that would happen).  If a guy opens the door for me, I want an apology.

Sarcasm for the above.

In the words of Rodney King - "why can't we all just get along?"  My thought is that prejudice would go away if we just stopped paying so much damn attention to it.

Thank you.

I believe the same 10000%, but then again I am a white guy whose part Indian and part Jew who grew up as a minority ( only a handful of white kids in my middle and elementary school) , but since I AM white, I have no idea how bad racism or discrimination effects people.

I agree. these radical ethnic groups really need to look at what they are doing ( mr. Jackson, Quanel X, et al )

Sorry, its early, I'm cranky, and I have a teleconference with the Miss White America Beauty Pagent officials then I need to withdrawl some money from my bank and donate it to the American White College Fund....

Vengeance - I'm a subscriper to People Magazine.  Have been for a VERY long time.  It's fluff.  It's my weekly escape from reality.  I don't fault any of the reporters in there.  However, if there's a story in there of some overrated teen queen or celebrity couple or a celebrity divorce, I pass over the articles.  And that's the thing - we have the *gasp* power to choose.  Don't like The Simpsons and don't want your kids to watch it?  TURN THE FREAKING CHANNEL!  Don't like your kids to read Harry Potter?  Don't let them.  Don't sue the school district to get it banned so no one else can enjoy it (that is happening in Georgia).

The thing is that WE do this.  WE keep buying People Magazine.  WE keep watching E! TV.  WE listen to celebrities to get our political vote.  When was the last time any of us actually read a presidential candidates entire platform instead of just a couple of planks?  Who watched the entire State of the Union last night and understood it?  Who then watched the Democrats response to the address after that?  And then who framed their opinions based on what the media said?  Not with what they believed.

Face it - Most of us are people who look to the media to form our opinions.  "Well, CNN says the war is wrong so I guess I should believe that".

And I still go back to when I started feeling this way.  I am one of the very few people in the world who thinks OJ Simpson is innocent.

Flames can be had.

Thank you, disnut. You got my point at least. hehehe.

The media doesn't suck. We cover everything, even the tasteless, just so every person can choose what they want.

Trust me, most of the time we don't want to cover the shit we have to cover.

You really think I want to cover the windmill progress this week? Um...no, but someone out there might read it so I'll cover it. *sigh*
