I'm connected to wi-fi 100% of the time on my laptop and I've never seen it there, in either IE or Firefox. I might just remove the whole bottom bar and see if that makes it go away.

my wifi isnt that good though. it cuts out every once in a while, and my VPN software flips out. |

I guess it could be that, then. Not sure how I'd try to debug something connection-related. I'm going to just yank the whole stupid thing out, I think. It's part of the layout but it's not really critical or anything and it's not worth the trouble that it's causing.
