I think this is a low blow on the coach's part. Just because someone signs for another team doesn't mean he'll give it is all for his current team. Heck, his new team doesn't even play Real Madrid. His new team is a friggin Major League Soccer team and not an international team. If Beckham loves playing soccer, then he's going to play it to the best of his ability no matter what.

I guess the coach really wants his team to lose then... and for his team to lose any attendance it could have gotten from having a star player until June... I wonder when the owners will step in

My understanding is that Beckham has been on the bench for most of the season, anyway. It's still stupid.

I don't follow soccer but caught a bit of this news.  Beckham's reason for signing (at least the one he's saying publically) is that he's 35 years old and he's never played in the United States so he wanted to do that in his career.  This is it for him.  He's no Pele and he is a pretty boy but he can play soccer.
