So Much for the Postal Creed

So we had one day of bad weather in north Georgia. Did we get any mail service yesterday? No. So much for that "in the doom of night" crap.
And then the topper this morning. No Sunday newspaper! OK, the mail is "free", I can live with that. But we pay for the freaking newspaper and all we can get for an answer is a recorded message saying that "due to inclement weather", blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And we did get a newspaper on Saturday when most of the roads were shut down. Our paper is delivered by someone in a car who throws it somewhere in the vacinity of the driveway and hardly slows down on the way. I'm going to do what my in-laws do - just buy the damn thing from a store and to hell with the subscription thing.
A special thanks to RichN for going out after my rantings and cussing here to get me a Sunday paper.

I drove back through Georgia today.? Roads seemed quite clear to me...
Note: 2/11/05... There were quite a few trees down on the side of the road and a lot of broken branches (some fairly large). Evidence of the heavy ice that was here, so I definitely missed it. It WAS here.

The roads here are perfectly fine. They were a little wet around 3 or so this afternoon but even then, there were dry patches. By 5 when we went to dinner, I think they were totally dry. You couldn't even tell that there was a little bit of ice yesterday. In fact, I don't think the roads ever got icy. The bridges, maybe a little bit. But heck, our front walkway didn't even freeze over. The deck was the only thing that froze.
