NASCAR driver Bobby Hamilton, 49, died today of cancer. He has won races in all three of NASCAR's top series and announced he had cancer early in 2006. He had a positive outlook on his cancer treatment. The NASCAR community will miss him and I'm sure the 2007 Daytona 500 will be dedicated in his memory.

Bobby Hamilton also overcame some tough circumstances after his grandparents, who raised him, died when he was just 13.  He literally lived on the streets.

Bobby Hamliton overcame some very tough obstacles but he couldn't overcome cancer.  To the Hamilton family, my good wishes.  Bobby Hamilton, RIP.

And to Benny Parsons, another NASCAR legend, here's hoping you can beat that cancer that currently has you in the ICU.

Red flag right now.  Race has been halted.

This upset me quite a bit. I'm sure RichN also remembers watching him on Sunday afternoons and I just can't believe he's gone. He was really young and now it's over. Sad

Yeah, I thought he was older, but just a few years ahead of me.  Makes you think, huh?  I liked the senior Hamilton.  His whiney son?  Nah.
