Maybe a fresh start will get him back on track.  As a lifelong Oriole fan, this trade doesn't bother me.  Hairston is a good player, but Brian Roberts is the starter.  Just hope the minor leaguers included in the trade aren't good prospects.

I was just reading the article on Yahoo and it looks like the Orioles are doing this basically just to attract fans away from the Washington Nationals. Oh well. I hope Sosa's bad past few years is only because he was unhappy in Chicago and he'll do better somewhere else

I still don't know what to make of Corky's incident.  I'm open-minded, but iunno.  Agreed, I think this is a publicity stunt, but good luck to him.

This probably wouldn't have happened if the Orioles got Delgado. I bet they told the Cubs they'd wait until Delgado choose a team and that would decided whether or not they'd go with a Sosa trade

The weirdest thing to see this year, though, would be Sosa in an Orioles uniform and not a Cubs uniform. He's linked with the Cubs and it's hard to imagine him not wearing one of their uniforms

Sooo true. I don't even like baseball and it's hard to imagine Sosa in anything other than a Cubs uniform.

Hasn't he also worn Texas and Chicago WS uniforms?  I know, before he was famous, but just pointing it out.  I read that he likes to blare his boombox in the locker room.  Wonder if Tejada will put a stop to that.

Interesting. Sosa waived the $18 million for 2006 if he was traded only for the Orioles. All the other teams had to deal with it if they wanted Sosa. He actually wants to play in Baltimore. Amazing, eh?

Copa Cabana?

ha.  i would hope that even the dominicans (or is he haitian?) have better sense than to blare barry manilow on a boom box.... only within the privacy of your own home or cruise ship, please.

You should stick with your Canuck hockey... quick, one more chance to figure out what the neutral zone is...
